Indy as primarily a dirt influence, but turf star Sunnybank Memorial is the proof that he can sire a turfer, and Rainbow Quest x Secretariat on the bottom here helps Wlyde Questn’s cause. 17% jock, and you have to think that a maiden debuting in stakes company will be sharp, so we’ll have to wait and see how she runs first time out. | |||
2 | HOW YOU DOIN'(GB) | 5/2 | Has demonstrated his versatility with several changes in running style; now he must prove that he can handle the lawn. Given that each of the three big horses in his pedigree (Kayf Tara, Kingmambo, Cozzene) all were talented turf runners (the former over marathon distances, the two latter over a flat mile), this one should handle the turf fine and may even move forward on it. Has to be the pick to win here, if only because he has some sort of record on which to base an assessment. | |||
3 | 17/1 | Unraced maiden, but in a field of talented runners and blue-bloods, his pedigree (while solid), isn’t exciting enough that I think he’ll make an impact. Will fit better in maiden company and could one day be a good horse, but this won’t be his day. | ||||
4 | BACKSTAGE BUDA | Even | Pedigrees don’t come any better than this, and there’s not that much else to say about this unraced maiden. Flip a coin; either she runs well first time out or she doesn’t, and there’s no way to predict how it will go. Working strongly in her favor is a 24% jock; that’s a somewhat ridiculous percentage in today’s racing scene, and Osbourne must be some kind of a miracle worker. If she has anything at all in her, Osbourne will find it and bring it out. | |||
5 | SALAD TONGS | 7/1 | This one isn’t unraced, but he’s still a maiden. Speed type likes to back up through the stretch, and he won’t graduate here. |
