The Louisiana Review

First off, sorry for no report last week.  The holiday threw me off a bit 🙂

RODOTs

The local bred rodot would have been a carbon copy from a few weeks ago, with oddla’s Seattle Legend(LA) running down the barn’s other runner San Andreas II(LA).  Would have been…… if not for the presence of Racinfree, an 8yo Authenticate/Danehill/A.P. Indy horse the vygor stable picked up two races back in a $15k claimer.  Seattle Legend stayed right behind Racinfree for the majority of the 7.5 race and looked to have him measured as they both moved by the tiring leader, but jockey O Euler was able to squeeze just enough out to hold on by a nose.

Saturday

This saturday’s local bred race held only two player entrants, and was taken by Illusivo(LA).  The 3yo War Eagle filly has shown improvement since switching from turf to dirt, and the stretch out to just over on mile resulted in a widening four length victory under A Jolly.  Caddo Parish(LA), from the dixiedotc2 barn, ran on for second over 17 lengths ahead of the also rans.

The New Red River residency invaded the bayou track with a 2yo msw named for LA sire Half Ours.  The six furlong affair was taken by teejay’s debuting AP Valentine/Sakhee/Rainbow Quest filly, Daylight Behind.  Jockey T Campy laid just behind the early lead of Texlaokar Shot before taking the baton halfway though for an unthreatened one length score.

Standout performances from the other races would include circusham’s Pinhook(KY), a 3yo Awsome Again colt that flashed dazzling speed in winning a one mile allowance in 1:34 1/5, jockey A Jolly was in the irons.  The race gave him a lifetime best 110 spf, and now seven wins from eleven lifetime starts. Desperado4’s Five Star Cadet(GB) dropped in from stakes and graded company to take a conditioned allwance by an easy two lengths, also posting a 110 spf.  Queen Edna(ENG), from the jacmac stables, posted the highest figure of the week, running a 111 while taking her 11th win from 26 starts.  Winning her fourth consecutive race in LA was Witch Of The Wild(ENG), a 3yo Dansili filly from the canyontxbarn that has not lost since stretching to two turn racing.  Another runner that posted a lifetime high was Dushvinsky(KY), a 4yo Street Sense colt that took an open alw in 1:41 2/5 for shaghar, for a 109 spf.  The standout 2yo from the week has to be shortplay’s The Price Is Right(KY).  The gray son of Tapit covered 5.5 furlongs in 1:04 4/5 for a 79 rating.

Lender’s Deadinthelane Stables led grouped stables on saturday, capturing two races while A Jolly was the standout jockey with eight wins on saturday, to go with four places.
