Oklahoma Celine Stakes

Welcome to Oklahoma today for the running of the Grade2 Celine Stakes for 3 Year Old Fillies over a Mile & One Sixteenth. We have 7 beautiful Fillies in the paddock about to head around to post so lets take a look at the field.

1. Miro – 8- 2-1-3

Has been a really solid little horse for her connections and was graded placed at just her 3rd start. She has shown an ability to sit up on the speed and hold on to the wire. This should be a good test to see where she is at.

2. Forensics – 8- 2-3-1

This girl will get back and come like a train over the final stages. Last time out she was last early before flying home to just miss in a close finish posting a 100SP. The extra distance of todays race is in her favour here at 5/1 she is enormus value.

3. Hells Train – 10- 2-1-1

Interesting runner for mine in this race as she has just had the 2 starts on the turf for 1 win, however that 1 win was at her last start where she also sat at the tail of the field before sprinting home to post a soft win with a 92SP. If she keeps the momentum going here she may of found her place on the grass.

4. Very Entertaining – 8- 4-1-1

She ran in the same race as Forensics last start and finished 1 spot behind her in 3rd beaten 2-1/2 lenghts overall with a 98SP. She was beaten 2-1/4 lengths by Forensics in that run but i feel, if this girl could race just in behind the speed today and get the breaks when she needs them she could turn that result around.

5. Wickedtwistedroad – 10- 3-1-1

Has been working through the allowance classes well and has earnt a shot at this Graded race. At her last start she ran a carrer best race sitting on the speed and then powering away in the straight to win running away posting a 97SP. If she can find a cheap sectional during the race she will be packing plenty of guns in the straight.

6. Vexatious – 10- 6-2-1

An on pace runner who just seems to be running her opponents into the ground in allowance races of late. Last start she ran a carrer high 97SP over today’s distance and she should be primed for a big run.

7. Come On Wendy – 16- 6-2-2

The 5/2 favourite and she will be charging home at the end of the race. Last start in a stakes race at Montana she sat back off the speed and then unleashed a blistering turn of foot to post a 2-3/4 length victory with a 96SP. If there is any speed on she will be the one flying late.

Having said that my selections for the race are 2 – 7 – 5.
