Blazing Saddles entry – Filly out of a “G” rated mare and sired by Montjeu.  The mare has a few decent stakes potential progeny; and this filly looks to be in that category.  A short field here gives her a chance against the boys to at least be ITM.  She’s still eligible for NW3l status, but there aren’t any superstars as of yet in the field.  She likes the front end as do most here; so conditioning will play a huge part of her experience.

DelPenn entry – Colt out of a “B” rated mare of some fame (Pravda).  With Dynaformer as sire this colt has some potential for the future.  Three wins in six starts is a good way to start a career.  Last out also produced the colt’s highest SP to date (101).  Distance shouldn’t be a factor in this, although a slight “bounce” may.  Jockey Moss should keep this colt off what appears to be a fast pace and save for the stretch drive.

DelPenn entry – Colt out of an “E” rated mare from my main stable.  I decided to throw him in here to see how he would react to the distance.  He’s only RTG and comes out of one of my sprinter mares.  Since sire Lewis Michael is a newer sire and doesn’t have a graded winner…we’re not expecting a lot.

Non resident entry – Colt out of an “A” rated mare, whose progeny rock.  Sired by Northlight who certainly has earned the status of stakes class in the sim.  Besides the colt on the outside, this colt is class of the field.  Two time graded winner in just nine starts and is coming off a G3 win at 10f in Japan while going for the hat-trick.  Stalking the pace is his style and it fit’s well here.  Prime contender.

Midas entry – Scratch bred colt sired by Holy Bull.  Nine starts with four wins and hasn’t been OTM yet.  Last out was a G3 win at 10f in Paris.  As with the #4 he is the class in this short field.  He also has the ability to set the pace or come off of it.  With the speed in this race, he probably will lay back some.  What’s surprising to me is that he has this very nice record with jockeys that aren’t rated very high.  Seems the owner doesn’t pick jocks.  I wonder what he would do with a top jock in the irons?

On paper it’s the 4-5, 5-4 all the way.
