EAAA entry – 4yo scratch bred filly by Elvstroem.  Good looking listed stakes filly who went through conditions well and has placed in a G1 event at CA.  SP’s have improved dramatically in her last five starts.  This fits the pattern of her sire who has late developing progeny.  She has four wins and four second place finishes in her last eight starts.  She’s at the top of her form right now and should be there at the wire.

8/1

Non resident entry – 4yo filly out of an “H” rated mare that did nothing on the track.  However, blood speaks louder than performance at times.  She’s sired by Distorted Humor;  one of the hottest sires in the sim at present.  She has gone through conditions well, but is still looking for that breakthrough stakes victory.  It shouldn’t be too far in the future and may happen here as her last out was a near miss at 12f.  She topped out at SP109 in that and leads to concerns of a bounce here.  Caution prevails.

DelPenn entry – 4yo scratch bred filly by War Chant.  Earnings of a million at present along with eight wins.  She’s one of the many youngsters that have brilliant 2-3yo seasons and crash at four.  Her last win was the G1 Irish Oaks in July of last year.  Since then, it’s been all down hill.  Unless there’s a complete reversal of form, she probably won’t be a factor here.

Hong Kong RC entry – 5yo scratch bred mare by FuPeg.  She started her career on dirt and is now primarily a turf runner.  Either way she has been successful.  She has multiple listed stakes wins, and has been close in graded events.  It is often cruel to have a horse that just can’t seem to put the finishing touches on a graded field.  Perhaps here she will break through and finish the job.  Even in her losses she appears to always want more distance.  Perhaps that should be given a try.

28/1

Non resident entry – 4yo filly out of a “C” rated mare.  She is sired by Northlight who has appeared to have been down graded in the sim.  The filly is an honest sort that gives her best every time she steps onto the track.  She finally broke through in her last to capture a listed event.  The reason for her long odds here are in her slower SP’s.

Hispano Parlante entry – 6yo scratch bred mare by Ghostzapper.  Clearly, she is best is of these entries.  She started her career with five wins in a row on dirt!  The owner then decided to give her a chance on turf and she took to it smoothly.  Now she is the #1 female in her division.  Her accomplishments can be seen, so we don’t have to list them all here.  She’s a pace setter and should be up front in this.  Hard to pick anyone against her here.

6/1

Blazing Saddles entry – 6yo mare out of a “C” rated mare and sired by Sadler’s Wells.  She’s a multiple listed stakes winner that is still looking for her first graded win.  She has come close in her career, but as many horses and mares in the sim, has fallen just short.  It’s frustrating to say the least.  She’s definitely a threat here, but has again come into a pretty tough field.

7/1

Non resident entry – 5yo mare that is out of a “C” rated mare that has produced some very nice progeny.  She is sired by Rainbow Quest who no longer has that ability.  She has a mil+ in earnings and one graded victory along with listed stakes wins.  She fell short in her last at 12f and probably had a bounce also.  She appears to be the threat to the favorite as she will be able to keep close to the pace.  Could upset here.

Minnesota entry – 5yo mare out of a “B” rated mare and sired by Deep Impact.  Is very competitive at this level and has one graded win along with ITM’s in others.  She has a good prep race for this with an easy four length victory at 12f in her last out.  Her late burst in the stretch will test the front runners if they get into a speed duel.  Class is not an issue.

I find it hard to go against the #6 in this.
