Small Field to Battle It out over 8 Furlongs

California… Home to many sports teams including The Oakland Raiders, and A’s.  Home of the San Francisco forty-niners, and Giants.  We even have the Los Angles Dodgers thrown in there.  But no one is tuning in today for those games today because we have a set of fillies and mares at 3 years old that are going to go 8 furlongs in today’s We Get Signal Grade III Stakes.  These 7 beauties all are looking to take home the majority of that 100,000 pot.  So with out further ado, let’s meet today’s ladies running on the firm turf.

PP 1.  Boble13 sends this Kentucky bred out with L. Jones on her back.  Bopullsafrica is a 7/1 shot in today’s race, and looks to start a new winning streak here today.  His last three races have been in 2 listed stakes, and an open allowance.  In an open allowance last time out, this boy ran an 84 SP and earned 5^th place.  His 2^nd and 3^rd races back got him 2 wins along with SP’s of 87, and 92.  Jones has 2800 races and a 10.1 winning percentage to show for it.

PP 2.  Japanese bred Sleepless, a 7/2 shot, will look to earn his owner masterab some money in today’s race.  F. Gosset will get the ride today on this girl.  Gosset has a 20.8 winning percentage in 8400 career races.  This is a pretty good jockey draw for Sleepless and masterab.  As for this girl, she has been on the ups and downs lately.  Last time out she earned a 86 SP, and it showed as she got 7^th in a listed stakes at 9 furlongs.   2 races back, this girl ran a decent 98 SP in a Grade II race.  This was preceded by an 85 SP, second place finish in an allowance.

PP 3.  One of two favorites in today’s race, sitting at 3/1, will be the young Kabumei.  Owner lowpickles hopes that jockey A. Lewis will ride this horse to the winners circle.  Lewis has 2800 races under his belt, and also has a 12.3 winning percentage.  As for this girl, she looks to continue her great run on her newly found surface.  After running her first 6 races on dirt, she made the switch to dirt, and it has not hurt a bit.  She has earned 2 SP’s of 95 and 94.  In those two races she has also ran first and second in an allowance and listed stakes.

PP 4.  The in between horse is the long shot today in this race.  Owner seedly2 will send out Halogun, bred in New Mexico, to run in today’s race.  They are trying to find a favorite surface for her, so hopefully this will be a good turnaround.  She has not been running all that great as of late.  In her last three races, 2 on dirt and her only turf race, she has finished 8^th, 4^th, and 2^nd.  Her SP’s have been increasing though as she went from 68 to 75 to 86.  D. Griffen gets the ride today, and will look to raise his 9.2 winning percentage.  He only has 1000 races under his belt though.

PP 5.  D. Steed will ride this 5/1 shot into what he hopes is not only her first stakes win, but graded win as well.  This girl made the switch over to turf last time out, and it didn’t hurt her one bit.  Owner fairhaven2 has nothing to complain about in Brutal Truths last race.  Her first 3 races on dirt were ok, but SP’s were only in the mid 80’s.  Then came the switch to turf, and she busted out of her 80 SP’s and ran a whooping 102 SP in a first place finish.  Steed is an ok jockey who has 1000 races under his belt and also holds a 7.6 winning percentage.

PP 6.  Winding down here we have Shavinsky who is a 7/2 shot.  1^st2^nd3^rd looks for his horse to hopefully pick up a win as she has been up and down lately.  In her last race, this girl ran a 96 SP, and had a second place to show for it.  2 races back was a different story as she ran a 90 SP and got third.  In her third race back, she ran an 86 SP in a 7^th place finish.  This girl has been improving though, and she looks to continue that here today.  Jockey B. Rahill will look to earn some dough as he only holds an 8.7 winning percentage in 1200 career races.

PP 7.  Finally in our last horse, we have the other favorite Earthbound Comet.  Owner peppermill will look for this 3/1 shot to continue his winning ways.  In his last three races, he has gotten first twice, and second once.  Two were in allowance races with SP’s of 90 and 88.  The other was a 99 SP in a listed stakes.  She won that race, even though the turf was yielding.  As for her jockey, we have M. Staples getting the ride.  Staples has a 15.4 winning percentage in 5300 career races. 

This looks to be an entertaining field, even with the short numbers.  I like just about all the horses to hit the board in today’s race.  If I had to make a choice, I would bet every trifecta possible because that’s how close this field is.  My top three would have to be 3, 5, 7 and my dark horse (no pun intended) would be the 2 horse.  This has been dydalt with your pre race write up.  Remember for all of your Sim race write ups head on over to the Black Type Bugler forum.  Now let the races begin, and good luck to all!!
