As the gates opened, it was Spring Storms, usinghis Gr1 speed to dictate the fractions up front. Tourist Attraction, the Gr2Swale Stakes winner was sitting just off his flank. Perfect Game Ted,The Gr1 Movieland Futurity runner-up was going to keep a close eye on the firsttier. As they got to the ½ mile pole, Perfect Game Ted figured it wastime to make a move to the front. BigTime Favorite was going to trackhis move and settle behind him as the original front runners started toretreat. Hellhound was making up nice ground, as he moved from 11thto 6th, only 6 lengths off the lead. Solar Expedition wasdrafting off his move and followed him to the far turn.
As they swung for home, Perfect Game Ted was usinghis distance experience to widen his margin to 1 ¾ lengths. Jock Cassell was all over Bigtime Favorite, pleading for him to change leads. Hellhoundwas in full flight now, passing Lucky’s Howie. Prussian was trying toget untracked now and make his usual closing move. Solar expedition, getting a taste of graded company was trying to keep his momentum turning forhome.
As they hit the wire, it was Perfect Game Ted keeping BigtimeFavorite at bay. Hellhound continued his big move and finished agood closing 3rd. Solar Expedition fared very admirably in onlyhis 2nd graded attempt, finishing 4th by 4 ¼.
