2010 Two Year Old Preseason Statistics

 

            Well, the two year old preseason has come to a close, and many of us are wondering:  How did my boys and girls stack up with the competition.  This year’s preseason saw 378 races run, with 4214 runners.  Race count climb a bit, driven by a surge in the number of turf races offered.  The number of runners also increased, with dirt starts down and turf starts way up. Average speeds overall gained just over half a point, driven by average speeds for fillies, which gained nearly a point and a half.  Four horses cracked the 80 speed mark, as compared to three last year.
