Sersave Last in Last

If you have been following the misadventures of Sersave, a horse that I own, you will know that he is one of the worse ever. He just ran his final race this weekend, a special short 4.5 furlongs, restricted to horses that are 9-years old.

A short field of 4 went to post, which guaranteed that Sersave would walk out with some Breeding Points and purse money, something that he has not collected in years.

Sersave got away slowly, but was third (barely) in the early going. As a member of the EWC Residency, a fellow resident entered Season Grease, who ran along side Sersave throughout the race.

Season Grease allowed Sersave a few brief moments of running third throughout the race, but as they galloped through the final furlong, Sersave took the seat he liked best, last.

Winning the race was Another A Pricess, who ran side by side with Ross Pass ever step of the way. Season Grease beat Sersave by less than a length.

Sersave has only won one race in his career and hitting the board for him is more of an error. What Sersave lacks in speed, he makes up in longevity, being one of a very few to have run 100 career races.

A special floral arrangement awaited Sersave in the winner’s circle, where a special presentation was being held to honor him. Sersave, pulled back from the circle as the jockey tried to lead him in for the presentation. At one point, Sersave nearly tossed the rider.

After being calmed down, the bed of flowers was placed upon Sersave, with the presentation being done at the finish line. Seems like Sersave never really cared for the winner’s cirle afterall!
