Hong Kong Stakes Review

The OUR BEADS Challenge for two-year-olds over seven and a half furlongs on the fast dirt for a purse of $65,000 brought success to Road To Isengard, trained by glendowr and ridden by D. Aldridge. Joining the leader Mr. Tiger Bro(AUS) early in the race, he soon took up the running and went on to win by three-quarters of a length from Gonzalez Sergio(IRE), ridden by T. Brewer and trained by ruby9. Third was Count The Birdies, who was ridden by Di Thomas for kinghaven, while the favourite Mr. Tiger Bro(AUS) finished fourth here for chi4504 under M. Bower.

The winner was fourth favourite for this race. Running in his fourth race, he ran by far his best speed figure to date of 92, having only put up figures in the 70s beforehand. This race looked pretty speedy and if he can repeat that sort of figure he is sure to climb rapidly up the two-year-old rankings ladder.
