The Elves Dash

Elves Dash

Top Notch Hero
– Wow, what can you say here. Since Little Johnny claimed this one it has won 2 high profile starter allowances and 3 Stakes races and never been out of the money, the stakes all being the last starts. It has won 6 from 16 turf starts. One of the best claims I’ve ever seen.

The Magic Nose – This horse has run 2nd in Group 3 races 4 times. It is a prolific placegetter but has still managed over $400k in prizemoney. Is in the best form of it’s career at the moment without getting the luck to go with it.

Bang Bang(Aus) – This 3yo multi stakes winner is facing pure quality here, but could well be up to it, just needing the chance. She has won 4 stakes races and a Group 3 (as a 2yo) but has never broken the 100 speed mark. If she sticks with them early she could break the 100 and their hearts.

Stonebridge Knight – Hit his peak when winning a Group 1 race as a 3yo. Slightly disappointing in it’s finishing positions of its last few races but the performances were very good. Assess this one on the fact it has won $600k+ and 8 from 28 starts. Another Qld champion.

Viva Le Diva(Aus) – Beat some very good nags when winning the Barb’s Mary Ellen Special in NSW, running 111 speed. A repeat of that would probably be enough to win this. The latest few have been short of it’s best.

Hamilton Island(Eng) – Another proud member of the Qld tribe. This horse is as consistant as the day is long. If the top horses falter in any way, this one will be there. His last few have been his best and with improvement could take it out anyway.

Zambesi(NZ) – 3yo with an outside chance. She is racking up a good record and will be a good horse in time, perhaps just not quite yet against these. Prove me wrong Zambesi.

It Is As If I Can(NZ) – Won a stakes race early on in it’s career, however, its 3 opponents on that day have only won claimers since. Has started very long odds last 4.

Round Wolf(Aus) – Until recently was running around in claimers. Won a locally bred allowance but has since failed. Needs Cameron to be the jock as he seems to get the best from it.

Montville Man(Ire) – Another building a nice record. Has won 2 from 8 on turf, but needs wet conditions to do so. I saw Balmain doing a strange dance near his barn the other day, so maybe the rain will come.

Given Half A Chance – Broke its maiden 4 starts but is unlikely to trouble these. Poor last start.

Kepler Redsom(Eng) – First race for gezlodge. Very nicely bred indeed, and is another I can’t believe was racing in claimers. You have a lot of fun with her, but maybe not against some of these.

Van Legend – Won 2 from 19 (turf), $30k, and is racing in claimers. Could be a steward’s enquiry if you win this one, but good luck anyway.
