EQUINICS 2026 – DOWN UNDA – 15/16 AUGUST

EQUINICS 2026 MAKES HISTORIC AUSTRALIAN DEBUT FOR 26th ANNIVERSARY OF DERBY FEVER

Twenty-eight years of digital lineage, strategic breeding, and fiercely contested racing have led to this moment. On Saturday, August 15, 2026, the global simulation community will celebrate the game’s 28th anniversary in the most spectacular fashion imaginable.

For the very first time in its legendary history, EQUINICS is heading Down Under, launching a radical, cross-continental championship format.

From every corner of the globe, stable managers have programmed, trained, and prepped their finest pixels ponies for a 24 race meeting, packed into a single high stakes 48 hour weekend.

To honour this landmark anniversary, the event card features 12 elite turf races on Day 1, followed by a mirror image matrix of 12 punishing dirt races on Day 2.

The twist?

The entire festival splits across the Australian continent. On Saturday, the lush green lawns of Queensland play host to the turf elite, before the entire digital circus pivots thousands of kilometers west to the deep, unforgiving sands of Perth on Sunday.

The Global Alliances Take the Stage

The true magic of this 26th-anniversary festival lies in its staggering international scale. The starting gates in Queensland and Perth will be packed with elite thoroughbreds representing the game’s premier global powerhouse residencies and alliances.

This historic cross-continental battle will see the absolute best runners compiled from:

• EWC, NWRC & URC
• LATINOS DEL MUNDO
• FRC & NORTHWEST RACING
• BRITISH & EUROPEAN RACING
• DUR, ORPHANS, & ESR
• MIDAS, MECCA,

With decades of breeding rivalries culminating on the 15th of August, these powerhouse residencies are sending their ultimate champions Down Under to see who truly rules the digital turf and dirt.

Day 1: The Queensland Turf Sovereignty (Saturday, August 15)

The 26th-anniversary celebration kicks off under the warm Queensland sun, testing the grass specialists across four-year-old veteran divisions and three-year-old rising star brackets.

The core of the anniversary day 1 card lies in the four-year-old and upward categories, where seasoned campaigners will duke it out over four distinct, classic distances: the 6F sprint, the tactical 8F mile, and the stamina sapping 10F & 12F routes. Every single distance will feature two distinct flights, an uncompromising battle for Open company, and a prestigious elegant tier reserved strictly for the finest females.

Rounding out the program, races 9,10,11 & 12 on Day 1, will be 4 races exclusively for three-year-olds. Striking an exact balance, these future legends will clash over the sharp 7f & 10f distance, split evenly between Open and female only fields.

Day 2: The Perth Dirt Revolution (Sunday, August 16)

Once the turf champions are crowned on the East Coast, the festival shifts gears completely. Day 2 unrolls the exact same 12 race matrix matching the same distances, age restrictions, and gender splits, but transplants the action onto the gritty surface of Western Australia’s premier dirt track in Perth.

The Perth dirt simulation demands an entirely different athletic profile: explosive gate speed, maximum stamina ratings, and the mental heart to fight through a barrage of flying sand down the homestretch.

From the opening 6F blitz to the lung burning 12F Open & Female dirt marathon for 4yr+ and closing out the days events will be the 3yr olds.

Sable managers will watch decades of carefully curated bloodlines put to the ultimate test of surface versatility. Will the same residencies that dominated the turf the day before, find a way to conquer the deep western dirt. Or will a new breed of dirt specialist residencies seize the anniversary spotlight?

Twenty-Six Years of Virtual Glory

What started 26 years ago as a passion project for racing enthusiasts has evolved into a global ecosystem where championship trophies are among the most coveted honours in simulation gaming. By taking EQUINICS to Australia for the first time, the game honours its vast international player base, turning a weekend of simulation code into a continent spanning festival of speed and to find that champion residency
