Senor Anzio Feeling Young Again

The Gr 1 Sand Castle Fee Duty….

What a race we had here today folks!!!!!! The crowds are still buzzing with the race and the fantastic stretch drive. The 7 yr old hard knocker Senor Anzio, sitting 13th at the half mile pole, unleashed a fury down the stretch to win the $5,000,000 Duty Fee Turf.

Through the early stages of the race, Severe Warning grabbed the lead and wanted to share it with no one. Theatrical Trailer was content to sit 2nd through the early stages. With 3 furlongs to go, Tush would be the first to take a shot at the front. Following his move was Enchanters Endgame. Then, the horse of the year made his presence felt as he followed that move. Senor Anzio was on the move, but still had a way to go. Through the lane Tush was hanging tough, giving it his all. Basketball Jones came up outside of Tush and rallied past him inside the 1/8th pole. But footsteps were being heard late. Senor Anzio used his 32 race experience and his veteran jockey T. Small only had one option left. Having no room to go outside, he shot the old boy between Basketball Jones and Tush. His momentum was felt by H. Harzheim , jock on Basketball Jones. “Man, I thought we had it late. I honestly didn’t think that Small could get the horse through that hole.”

Basketball Jones ran a game 2nd and Tush ran a very solid 3rd.

Rode Me Hard finished a solid closing 4th and Theatrical Trailer fought hard and held on for 5th.

Well all, that’s it from Dubai and congratulations to the winning connections in Senor Anzio and trainer Seveii…..
