Who Got The Needle in the Liar Liar?

Before I explain the tease I will bury the lead by telling you what actually happened in the race.
Back In The Day, Nikki Nova and Kings Halo engaged in a ping ponging suicidal speed duel right out of the gate. All 3 would be done in by this battle. That left 17 others dueling to be the winner of the Liar Liar and the Golden Needle, a soon to be treasured trophy. Vixen Valley was in tight against the wood and would never escape. Unfabulous made a nice move to find a spot to his outside, in just behind the speed duelers. The great Otto Tribute. Assaulted, Bag of Nuts and Lactosa dropped back never to be heard from again. It is worth noting that Otto Tribute is a legend in the sim and her loss of form saddens all in the game, even those who she whooped up on. In fact of all the deep closers only Rhaenya was poised to get involved. Violete made a nice run but it was only good for minor spoils. The giant heart of Rudy would also be on display before we were through. By mid race it became clear that the stalking ride Unfabulous was receiving would give her a fabulous shot. Night Witch, Firsttime and Rutherford Ondirt did not have answers when the real running started and neither did Fleeting Well or Greenland’s Edge. Advantage found none today, and Street Crying wound up causing it connections to do just that. Wonderful Eden held off the late closing Violete to stay in the Superfecta.
The day belonged to Unfabulous though. She stalked the leaders and when they faltered she powered by them as though they were nailed to the rail and none of the late chargers ever menaced her. Rhaenyra turned in a fine effort weaving through the entire field and then holding off a dead game Rudy to get second. Rudy wound up third, perhaps mistiming her best run and allowing Rhaenyra to get the jump on her. The two ran stride for stride to the wire well clear of the rest of the herd.
Unfabulous may be a specialist at 6.5, many of her career best efforts have come at this distance even though one might look at her pedigree and assume she could go longer. The 4 year old Borrego mare crossed the 700k mark in lifetime earnings and now is 15-18 lifetime itm. Upon arriving in the winner’s circle, her wildly successful connections did look a touch surprised. It may have been the dark mares shocking performance at 25-1 or it may have been the swarm of media questioning how the horse made a 24 point speed improvement race to race. The Golden Needle was presented to Fairhaven2 who smiled (as much as a Darth Vader helmet can show a smile) and mocked injecting Unfabulous with it, to the delight of the media horde. Unfabulous undoubtedly becomes a major player in the Filly/Mare sprint division this year and expect to see her sprinting again in perhaps early April.
The Evil Empire is known for exacting tribute from the mediocre, but somehow in the case of this writer it is working out exactly the opposite. In a super kind gesture the winning connections and race sponsor have offered the writer of this mediocre drivel extra compensation. The Evil Empire is actually quite a do gooder all around the sim as many new players and btb writers will attest. They usually make you sign a non disclosure agreement about their benevolent actions but I got this article to print before I signed mine. Thus I am able to break the story. The Evil Empire clearly is only a half true name and it ain’t the empire part that is being brought into question. Thanks much Mr. Vader and all the folks in helmets for the great race.
