BLUEGRASS DERBY WATCH – 3882
With four Graded races, one being the first Lock Race on the 2009 season, week 3882 offers the start of the biggest races for horses along the Derby Trail. With the top ranked 3yo DISTORTED DRAGON chasing away the competition in the Grade III Gary Asher Memorial in New York on Saturday, five other top twenty horses will look to lock up an entry into the most prestigious race in history with a victory in the All Saints Derby in Louisiana on Saturday. With the five top twenty horses entered in the All Saints Derby likely starters in the Bluegrass, you can bet connections of horses not entered in the Louisiana classic that are on the outside looking in, are hoping one of those top five take home top prize, extending their hopes for the opportunity to be represented on that first Saturday in May.
