From Tokyo race course in virtual Tokyo, Japan, the Elite Racing Club conducts its final stakes event of the year in the Equinox. Eight two year old routers will battle over a mile and a sixteenth (or 8.5 furlongs, or ~1700 meters for the locals) over what should be a firm turf course as the local weather guessers see clear skies through the weekend.
.
The club’s yearly trainer championship has already been decided as harrylan wraps up a banner year with a runaway victory, ending amir’s four year run of titles – congratulations harrylan !
.
As for the Equinox, chino saddles the top entry point getter in the field, and has the only prior stakes winner, SUPER DUBBER going to the post. Amir sends out VIRABHADRA in his 2025 finale, while winterset has SIYOUNI PALACE lining up in the starting gate. Harrylan looks to put a neat bow on the 2025 season with REALLY SIYOUNI; dunnvilledowns sends out another track announcer tongue tyer in TAWHITI KANIKANI; dontbetonme saddles GO MAKE WAR; summerset has WORKING THE PATCH heading into the starting gate and newfydowns completes the field with MUFFLIATO.
.
Improving two year olds on the cusp of three will always surprise the racing public and even the track insiders. No difference here. Should be an exciting race. Let’s take a look at their past performances and see what the numbers may reveal.

6..SUPER DUBBER……………………GB …..2M……chino5………………………….
Top entry point runner from the chino5 stable was 2nd best last time over in the Royal Woodbine listed stakes at this route, grabbing a 87 SP# behind a runaway winner. Bruising bay colt took the Andys Choice listed stakes, also at this distance in one prior, garnering a 90 SP# from a mid-pack trip. Territories toughie (by Dubawi) got his maiden win one before that in an open maiden at a mile, pounding an 86 SP# from the middle of the pack. Lone stakes winner in this field, should be in the second flight ready to pounce at the top of the stretch – contender at 5/1 on the morning line.

8..VIRABHADRA …………………….JPN…..2M…..amir1655 ……………………..
Fleet Declaration Of War dancer (by Kitten’s Joy) wired a NW2L allowance at a mile in latest try, crushing a 90 SP# in a facile victory. Commanding chestnut colt was 2nd best in his initial try against winners, copping an 82 SP# after making all the early fractions. He got his career off to a flying start with a gate to wire win one back of that at seven panels over a yielding turf course, collecting a 76 SP#. Runner from the amir1655 mega stable could have his own way on the front end; dangerous speed merchant kay be tough to catch.
.
.
7..SIYOUNI PALACE…………………GB …..2M…..wintersetfinco………………
Palace Pier prancer, out of the G3 winning sim mare Si Mi (by Siyuoni) settled for 3rd last out in an open allowance at a mile, busting an 88 SP# after getting a lead into the stretch. Big bay colt wired a similar field in the same conditions one before that over a good turf course, bashing an 89 SP# in an impressive performance. His previous outing was a front running 4th in the club’s July stakes event, the Camelot, bagging an 83 SP# after setting all the early fractions. Speedster could get brave if allowed an easy early lead; trainer wintersetfinco is looking for just that outcome.
.
.
5..REALLY SIYOUNI…………………. FR…..2M…..harrylanexp13……………….
Bruising bay colt exits a solid score first time out against winners in a NW2L allowance at a mile, crushing a 91 SP# in a middle of the pack trip. Son of Siyouni, based on the grade placed sim he-mare Thisonereallywon (by No Nay Never) got his first win in his previous outing in an open maiden at 7.5 panels, casting an 88 SP# from just off the early leaders. He just missed when 2nd in his debut in an open maiden at 7 furlongs, copping an 82 SP# with a nice late move. Harrylanexp13 protege should be racing mid-pack waiting to pounce; the handicapper likes him a lot as the 7/2 early line favorite at the betting windows.
.
.
4..TAWHITI KANIKANI…………….AUS…..2M……dunnturf……………………..
Owner/trainer/BTB correspondent dunnvilledowns sends out this Pierro pony, based on the sim he-mare Went The Distance (by Dubawi), who broke his maiden in a NW2L allowance at a mile, flashing a 92 SP# with a back of the pack effort. Burly bay colt closed well for 3rd a race before that in an open maiden at this distance, forging an 84 SP# while much closer to the early leaders. His prior engagement was a late running 3rd in a open maiden at 6.5 panels, flinging an 84 SP# from way back in the pack. Deep closer would fancy a quick early pace to set up his late run; latest SP# puts him right there at the finish.
.
.
1..GO MAKE WAR…………………..IRE …..2M……dbf4……………………………
Go Bears Go galloper out of the stakes winning sim mare Kings Make War (by Dubawi), came on for 3rd from well back in the pack in the Jo Anns Yodeler listed stakes at 6.5 furlongs, zapping a 90 SP# in his most recent try. Boisterous bay colt won a four horse NW2x allowance at 6.5 panels one before that as the odds on favorite, zipping an 84 SP# with a sizzling stretch run. In his previous start he got the money in a NW2L allowance at three quarters of a mile, zinging an 86 SP#. Dontbetonme athlete can save ground and then gear up to mow them down in the lane; the handicapper likes him as the 4/1 second choice on the tote.
.
.
3..WORKING THE PATCH…………AUS…..2G……summerset2025…………….
Bashful bay gelding just missed the win last out when 2nd in a NW2L allowance at a mile, sticking an 86 SP# in his first race after “alteration”. Astern ambler, out of the sim mare Miss Centerfold (by Galileo) faded to a well beaten 8th one back of the that in an open allowance at 7 furlongs, stashing a 72 SP# against tough foes. In his prior outing he was 3rd in a local bred allowance at 6.5 furlongs, stabbing a 74 SP# in an even effort. Runner from the summerset racing group improved significantly last time out – another move like that could put him in the thick of the things coming down the straight.
.
.
2..MUFFLIATO………………………GB…….2M…..2021bargainsnew………….
Last but certainly not least is this New Approach niffler out of the sim mare A Stronger Warrior (by Saxon Warrior), whose late charge ran out of track in the G3 The Future Colt listed stakes at this route, dropping an 85 SP# against a fast field. Gleaming chestnut colt got his first win one back of that in an open maiden allowance at a mile, drilling an 86 SP# from way back in the pack. In his previous run he surprised for 2nd in the club’s July stakes event, the Camelot at 7 furlongs, drawing an 85 SP# with an impressive late run. Owner/trainer newfydowns will have his charge lagging the pack in the early stages, but may be that blur coming down the stretch in the run to the wire.
