The SEATTLE ROCK Special
In Pennsylvania this week we have the 6.5 furlong, Non-Graded Stakes, The SEATTLE ROCK Special. This race will be run of the firm turf and is open to the 3yo ladies and they will be running for a share of the $45,000 purse. The record time for this race is 1:16 3/5, set last year by Ziggolo, who was trained by gradelane with a speed of 93 and jockey J Piotrowski in the irons. We have a small field of six competing this week.
Let’s meet the field.

She is ranked #1114 for turf sprint.

Terenetsa is a 3yo mare out of the dam Art’s Myman. Out of 7 career starts, she has 2 wins, 2 places and 1 show for career earnings of $26,847. Hottie Wit a Body is a 3yo mare out of the dam Real Intent II. Out of 8 career starts, she has 4 wins, 1 place and 1 show for career earnings of $79,690. After 2 unsuccessful career starts on the dirt she was switched to the turf where she is 4 out of 6 with the place and show on the grass as well. She has won at distances from 5 – 7 furlongs with one Non-Graded Stakes win her last time out. She is ranked #106 for turf sprint.
PP 4 PRIM FOR KIRBY (Primary x Elusive Quality x Forestry)
Trainer: unokirby Jockey: D Yuengling Odds: 6/1
Prim for Kirby is a 3yo mare out of the dam Barb’s Silence. Out of 8 career starts, she has 3 wins, 2 places and 3 shows for career earnings of $91,840. After breaking her maiden on an off dirt track her first time out, she spent the next three races on the dirt before being switched to the turf. Although speeds didn’t improve much, she brought home 2 more wins, both Non-Graded Stakes (one 5.5 furlong and one 6.5 furlong). She is ranked #74 for turf sprint.
PP 5 THIEVES GUILD EMAN (Cat Thief x Pulpit x Forty Niner)
Trainer: eman Jockey: Q Miller Odds: 9/1
Thieves Guild Eman is a 3yo mare out of the dam Don’t Preach Em. Out of 10 career starts, she has 2 wins, 4 places and 1 show for career earnings of $90,200. After one try on the dirt in February, 2008,
she was switched to the grass where she was unable to break her maiden until September, 2008 in a 7 furlong MSW. She immediately followed that win with a 6 furlong Allowance and hasn’t won since. She has only placed out of the money twice in her career and this will be her third Non-Graded Stakes attempt. She is ranked #202 for turf sprint.
PP 6 REIGN IN HADES G (E Dubai x Forestry x Seattle Slew)
Trainer: citation4 Jockey: J Piotrowski Odds: 6/5
Reign in Hades G is a 3yo mare out of the dam Noelle’s Rainbow G. Out of 10 starts, she has 5 wins, 3 places and 0 shows for career earnings of $471,125. Along with her maiden and one Allowance win, she has 2 Non-Graded Stakes wins and one Grade I win in the 6 furlong Super Gold Handicap back in December 2008. She has only placed worse than 2nd twice in her career, a fourth in her only start on the dirt and a sixth her last time out on the turf. She has won at distances from 4.5 to 7 furlongs. She is ranked #2 for turf sprint.
Reign in Hades G x Hottie Wit a Body x Thieves Guild Eman
I definitely have to go with Reign in Hades G on this one. She is no doubt the best of the field and the only one with Graded winnings, especially a Grade I. Hottie Wit a Body will be about a length back in second with Thieves Guild Eman following not far behind in third.
Good Luck and Happy Racing!!!
