G2, The Lowdown
This week we are headed to Surrey where on the card this Saturday they will be hosting the running of the G2, The Lowdown. This race will be across the firm turf course at the distance of 6 furlongs. The race is restricted to 2 year old Fillies only that has drawn a field of eight horses. The morning line odds and post positions have been released so let’s take a preview of the eight fillies that will make the start in the running of the G2, The Lowdown.
| 1 | ORDER A PIZZA | AUS | 2F | mexican | G Tiggle | 4 | 2 | 75% | $86,140 | 6.00 | 8/1 |
Heading out first we will see this Chestnut Filly (PAULELE (AUS) x ZOUSTAR x FLYING SPUR ) that has been running well in her recent starts for the owner. After picking up an Allowance win in New South Wales she would be sent out in Dubai to make her most recent start. She would travel 5.5 furlongs in a Listed Stakes, North Carson Buda Turf Juvenile Fillies. She grabbed the early lead and was attempting to go gate to wire, but would be caught down the stretch for home and cross the wire in second. She has had three good starts in a row and hopes to be there to challenge for a win when she heads over to the turf representing the Orphan Racing residency,
| 2 | ERUPTION CAP | GB | 2F | waitandsee | D Evans | 3 | 2 | 67% | $59,340 | 4.00 | 5/1 |
Next we have this Bay Filly (PINATUBO x FRANKEL (GB) x SEATTLE SLEW ) that has two wins in her three career starts. Last time out she would run well over in New Zealand where she would pick up the win in a $72900 Allowance race with an 84 speed rating. Her only off the board race came in a Listed Stakes two starts back. She is looking to show she is a stakes challenger when she heads out of the paddock representing the Orphan Racing residency.
| 3 | THE BONEZIPPER | IRE | 2F | ksparrow7 | W Moss | 2 | 1 | 100% | $69,060 | 10.00 | 7/2 |
This is a Light Grey Filly (DARK ANGEL (IRE) x LOPE DE VEGA x CITY ZIP ) that has only two starts but she has ran well in both. She started out with an Allowance win in Ireland and then would move up in class when making her most recent start in Belgium. She would go 6 furlongs in the G3, The Princess Margo of which he was closing hard down the stretch. She would be held off in that race to cross the wire with a nice second place finish. She has looked sharp in her first two career starts and is looking for a graded win this weekend representing the Down Under Racing residency.
| 4 | CAPPELLA SUMMER | ITY | 2F | lonquimay2 | R Truitt | 7 | 1 | 71% | $81,918 | 2.13 | 9/1 |
Now we have this Chestnut Filly (CAPPELLA SANSEVERO (GB) x DAIWA MAJOR x NIJINSKY 2ND ) that has hit the track seven times and that has hit the boards in five of her career starts. She has made six Allowance starts but has yet to find the winner’s circle. Last time out we saw her in Ireland going 6 furlongs in a $52600 NW2L Allowance race. She grabbed the early lead but could not fight off a couple of challengers that would beat her to the wire pushing her back to third. She needs to step things up this weekend as she jumps up in class when she heads out in the post parade to the cheers of an excited crowd.
| 5 | BURNT OUT HORIZONS | AUS | 2F | foxon17 | A Craig | 3 | 3 | 100% | $103,200 | 10.00 | 13/1 |
Next we will see this Bay Filly (ACROBAT x SEPOY x DENMAN (AUS) ) that has a clean record making three career starts with three nice wins. Last time out she would head out in Dubai where she would go 5.5 furlongs in a Listed Stakes, North Carson Buda Turf Juvenile Fillies. She would had just off the leaders in the early going and make a nice stretch run to get up for the one by one and a quart with a 81 speed rating. She is looking to get her fourth win in a row this weekend when she heads over to her gate representing the Down Under Racing residency.
| 6 | MOGARD SWEETY | IRE | 2F | pastrax | C Elektra | 6 | 3 | 67% | $165,090 | 17.00 | 5/1 |
Here we have this Bay Filly (FAR ABOVE x BRICKS AND MORTAR x UNBRIDLED ) with six career starts and that has picked up three wins. She has won a couple of Listed Stakes race including the one in her most recent start in Italy where she went 5 furlongs in the Simple Stripe Turf Juvenile Fillies. She was lingering just of the leaders in this race but found some extra effort in her stretch run to chase down the front runners and cross the wire first by a quart stride. She looked sharp in that race and the owner hopes she can have another good performance here in Surrey this weekend when she makes her way out to the cheers of an excited crowd.
| 7 | SPINNING FORTUNE | AUS | 2F | liambreeding3 | P Bangs | 2 | 2 | 100% | $111,840 | 16.00 | 7/2 |
Now we have this Bay Filly (I AM INVINCIBLE (AUS) x HARD SPUN x FORTY NINER ) that made her first start and broke her maiden in Newmarket. For her second and most recent start the owner would bump her up in class in Berkshire when she went 6 furlongs in the G3, The Capital Stakes. The owner knew his horse and made a good choice as his horse was there fighting all the way to get up for the win by a half stride with a 76 speed rating. She is seeking her third win in a row and another grade trophy to add to the mantel when she head out at post time representing the GR Simsters residency.
| 8 | LADY MONT | GB | 2F | duckman56 | T Small | 9 | 8 | 100% | $235,660 | 26.00 | 3/1 |
Breaking from the final gate in this race is this Bay Filly (OASIS DREAM (GB) x MONTJEU x NEW APPROACH (IRE) ) that has made her three most recent starts in HOT races. However she has picked up three Listed Stakes win and thus these HOT race training sessions bring me on concern. The trainer obviously has a plan in mind and is sending her out to try and pick up another big win this weekend when she is sent over to her gate to the cheers of an excited crowd.
Good luck to all owners and horses!
