ERC DUBAWI
Stakes – Purse $100,000
Restricted to 3 Year Olds
12 furlongs on Turf

Today we are at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie Texas for the running of “ERC Dubawi”, a 12 furlong race on the turf for three-year olds.  This race features a field of nine and presents the best that the residency has to offer. They will be competing for a purse of $100,000 and the winner will also collect the lion’s share of the stakes bonus points awarded, which will determine a club champion at year end.

The season standings are suddenly crowded for third place with there being a three way tie at 23 points with each of the owners being three points back of amir who is in second.

Here is a closer look at the field:

This three year old FRANKEL MY DEAR colt out of the Sim Mare DELTA MARE finished second two back at the “ERC Extreme Choice” where he blazed 100 speed over a nine furlong track and was beaten by just over a length by ROGUE TERRITORY. Last time out he was runner-up at this same distance when he ran 99 speed and was edged out by KATACLYSM. He should be in the mix here and should have a good chance to find a spot on the board.

This three year old FRANKEL colt out of the Sim Mare DUBAWI MAMBO has finished in the money in six of his seven career starts including three wins. He makes his first Stakes start here following an impressive 109 speed win at a ten furlong Allowance Race in Paris where he beat MUSEIGEN NO by two lengths. If he can repeat that big speed he will be tough to beat and could earn the stable their sixth ERC win of the year.

This three year old son of AUSTRALIA out of the Sim Mare MISS DEVIOUS has competed exclusively at Graded Stakes races this year and has two runner-up finishes in those five starts. Last time out he busted 106 speed at the ten furlong “G2 Colonial Derby” where he was beaten by three lengths to GOLD’S IMPACT. He is making his second appearance at an ERC race as he was second at the “ERC Turf Hopers” in his last start as a two year old. He comes back on just four weeks rest but should be in the mix as he competes out of gate number four.

This three year DUNDEEL filly out of the Sim Mare STRATIGRAPHIC has finished in the money in just five of her eleven career starts including two wins. She comes in off back to back third place finishes with the most recent coming at a ten furlong Allowance Race in Italy where she was beaten by three lengths. She has a career best speed of 89 and will need a big bump there if she hopes to compete with this group.

p henderson                                                  5/1

This three year old DAIWA MAJOR filly out of the Sim Mare SCALPEL has finished in the money in eight of her nine career starts including five wins. Last time out she had an easy 98 speed win at this same distance in an Allowance Race at this track where her nearest competitor finished seventeen lengths back.
