ERC CAMELOT
Stakes – Purse $100,000
Restricted to 2 Year Olds
7 furlongs on Turf

Today we are in Newmarket England for the running of the “ERC Camelot”,  a 7 furlong race on the turf for two-year olds.  This race features a field of ten and presents  the best “newbie” horses that the residency has to offer. They will be competing for a purse of $100,000 and the winner will also collect the lion’s share of the stakes bonus points awarded, which will determine a club champion at year end. This is going to be a great race with lots of speed and it could come down to a photo finish at the wire.

Here is a closer look at the field:

#1
a glorious burden
dontbetonme barn
i benjamin                                          6/1

This two-year old old scratch bed SEA THE STARS ( x DANSILI x SADLERS WELLS) coltcomes in off win at an Allowance Race in France where he ran 79 speed over a six and a half furlong track and beat LORD ESTEROS by half a length. He will look to run near the back of the pack in the early going and will kick it into high gear as they come down the stretch. Should be in the mix to compete for a spot on the board.

#2
astral projectile
amir1653 barn (dunn)
j bradley                                 5/1

This two-year old PIERRO filly out of the Sim Mare ASTROGENESIS had an impressive 76 speed gate to wire win in Kentucky in her only race to date. She comes in well rested and will like the distance and will be one of many to watch in this competitive race featuring lots of speed.

#3
muffliato
2021bargainsnew barn (newfy)
c byrne                                   8/1

This two-year old NEW APPROACH colt out of the Sim Mare A STRONGER WARRIOR has the posted the highest speed of any in the field with an 84. He has raced just once and came from way back at a six and a half furlong race at this same track and finished second behind winner THE NIGHT OF MARES. The extra distance will benefit him here and if he can repeat that big speed he will be tough to beat.

#4
munnings rags
wintersetfinco barn
fa raish                                    8/1

This two-year old PALACE PIER coltout of the Sim Mare SI MI broke his Maiden in his only start to date when he went gate to wire over a five and a half furlong track and beat AUTHENTIC LOVE by almost four lengths. He should be well positioned as they come down the stretch and has a good chance of taking home the win for the ownership group.

#5
kihi kanikani
dunnturf barn
t cooper                                              5/1

This two-year old WOOTON BASSETT filly out of the Sim Mare BEG FOR A KISS impressed with 78 speed in her last start where she came from the middle of the pack and ran down USE THIS MEDICINE and won by a head. I expect she will break 80 speed here today and should have a good chance of finding a spot on the board for the ownership group.

#6
oscar kitten tango
summerset10 barn
a tuscha                                  8/1

This two-year old OSCAR PERFORMANCE fillyout of the Sim Mare SECRET KITTEN has finished in the money in all three of her starts and broke her Maiden last time out when she ran 80 speed over a six furlong track in New York. She ran near the back of the pack in her last two starts and will probably look to deploy a similar strategy here before kicking it into high gear as they come down the stretch. She should be in the mix and has a good chance of finishing in the money.

#7
banquo spirit
jbcri21 barn
a craig                                     11/1

This two-year old BANQUO colt out of the Sim Mare SPIRIT DE GOLD has finished in the money in three of his four career starts and comes in off a runner-up finish where he ran 80 speed over a six and a half furlong track and was beaten by two lengths by ROGUE INVESTOR. He should be able to compete with this group and will battle for a spot on the board.

#8
share the gold
mightyforego27 barn
ri williams                               11/1

This two-year old LAWMAN filly out of the Sim Mare OPTIMISM is making the third of her career following a fourth place finish in her debut and a 76 speed win last time at a six and a half furlong romp in Ireland. She comes in well rested and looks primed for a win against this competitive field of ten.

#9
i am process
extras2 barn (harrylan)
d mckane                                5/1

This two-year old I AM INVINCIBLE colt out of the Sim Mare PROCESS CRIME had a win in his only race to date when he ran 79 speed over this same track and beat DREAMY WELL by more than a length. He should be in the mix and could continue the dominating season that the ownership group has had to date.

#10
master of my dream
harleystables4 barn (bigz)
l loophole                               8/1

This two-year old MASTER OF MY FATE (who?) colt out of the Sim Mare SPIRIT DREAMS comes in HOT with three straight gate to wire wins. Last time out he ran 81 speed at a six and a half furlong Allowance Race in Ireland where he beat TRAPEZE CLASSIC by a head. He will face lots of competition here but has a chance of extending his winning streak to four.
