Bush Dances Again!

France– The $75,000 Montana Dance Stakes will send five sophomore fillies to post.  The mile and one half test will come across the main dirt track.  The weather should be perfect and the track fast.

The 6/5 favorite is Bush Wins Again.  K. Champ gets the call.  The daughter of Tiznow is 9/10 in the money in her young career.  All three of her wins have been by route of ground.  Front-running sort likes to try and wire the field.  He is back at this level after three solid allowance tries.  Using the theory that front-runners who quit at 9.5-10F may improve with more distance.  Questionable theory, but hey, as long as Bush stays in office we have nothing to worry about.  GW rocks!

Cobra Mystique is 5/2 under L. Woodard.  Cobra King filly has started 16 times with three wins.  She also prefers to be up close to the lead.  Won last time out off an open $35k claimer win.  May not show the class needed to win a stake race, but her numbers in her last two suggest she’s good enough.

Isaba is 4/1.  The Great One, J. Stivers is in the irons.  Sadler’s Wells progeny is bred for the weeds, but she prefers the dirt.  This will be her 19th try and she is no stranger to a route of ground.  Her last effort was at two miles where she won easily by over seven lengths.  The distance here will not be a factor.  This is your only multiple 12F starter and she will be tough.

Also at 4/1 are Cornwall and R. Truitt.  Gone West filly destroyed the field LTO by over nine lengths.  That came at 13F and was done in gate to wire fashion.  Will undoubtedly force the issue here, but may not be as quick as the other two front-runners.  A smart ride could prove to be the difference maker here.

Seeking The Statue is 5/1.  H. McLean is in control.  Statue Of Liberty filly is coming off of a horrible outing.  She probably didn’t belong in a GI race, but don’t let that fool you.  The filly has been running evenly and can handle this distance.  Her speed numbers are a bit lower than the rest.
