G1, The Kewl Whipped Stakes

This week we will fly to Dubai where we will find on the card this Saturday afternoon the running of the G1, The Kewl Whipped Stakes.  This race will be across the fast dirt track at post time at the distance of 7.5 furlongs.  The race is restricted to 3 year olds only and has drawn a field of eleven entries.  It looks to be at first glance a competitive field that will be heading out to find the wire first in this G1 event.  The morning line odds have been released, and the post positions have been drawn.  Let us now take a preview of the eleven horses that will make the start in Dubai in the G1, The Kewl Whipp Stakes.

Heading out first we have this Brown Colt (TIZWAY x ARROGATE x SEA THE STARS) that in his five career starts has only been off the boards once and that would come in his first maiden appearance.  In his two most recent starts he would pick up the win at the Allowance level going 7.5 furlongs in each.  He would run a 92 and a 91 speed rating respectably.  All of his races have been in Local starts, and he is taking a big jump in class to make the start this Saturday when he heads out of the paddock representing the Latinos Del Mundo residency.

This is a Chestnut Colt (HENNY HUGHES x YES IT’S TRUE x CACIQUE) that has been tried on both the dirt and turf surfaces.  The turf did not seem very successful for him and he was brought back to the dirt two starts back where he would go gate to wire to get the win in the High Bidder Dirt Juvenile.  He would then make his most recent start in Florida going 6.5 furlongs in the G2, Swale Stakes.  He would never find a good footing in this start and would be a disappointing seventh when he crossed the wire with an 89 speed rating.  He will move up in class again this weekend when he heads over to his post representing the Down Under Racing residency.

Next, we will see this Light Grey Colt (ZOUSTAR x UNBRIDLED’S SONG x SEATTLE SLEW) that in ten starts has picked up eight wins.  His biggest race would come in his most recent start when he would head out in Florida in the G2, Hutchingson Stakes at the distance of 7.5 furlongs.  He would jump out of the gate in normal style and go gate to wire for the win with a 104 speed rating.  He will be trying to add a G1 win to his résumé this weekend when he heads out in the post parade representing the Orphan Racing residency.

Here we have a Light Grey Colt (KNICKS GO x TAPIT x DISTORTED HUMOR) that has had six career starts and has never missed the boards and has picked up four wins.  All of his starts have been in Maiden or Allowances races and in his most recent he would take to the track in New South Wales where he went gate to wire to pick up the win in a $72900 Allowance race with a 95 speed rating.  He will be put to the test this weekend as he makes a big jump in class representing the Latinos Del Mundo residency.

Coming out next we have this Light Grey Colt (VOLATILE x TAPIT x STORM CAT) that would have a big race in his most recent start in Florida.  He would go 7.5 in the G2, Hutchingson Stakes.  He was making a big move down the stretch as he picked off a few horses but could not run down the front runner in this race.  He would cross the wire in second earning his GP badge with a 99 speed rating.  He will be back this weekend to face his adversary in that race when he heads out at post time representing the British and European Racing Club residency.

Now we come to this Chestnut Gelding (ELITE POWER x CANDY RIDE x AWESOME AGAIN) that three starts back would pick up the win in the G1, Sparkling Wine Stakes.  In his two most recent starts the gods would not be as kind as he was off the boards in each.  In his most recent start, he would go 8 furlongs in Florida in the G3, The Good Cow.  He lingered way back throughout this race and would fail to make a big move down the stretch as he crossed over the wire in eighth with a 97 speed rating.  He is looking for that spark to get back on the boards this weekend when he heads out of the paddock representing The Mecca residency.

7EDESSA EMPIREKY3Galibilane4A Reed7257%$85,95012.2512/1

This is a Light Grey Gelding (FROSTED x TIZNOW x HALO) that does have a GP badge as a 2 year old running third in the G3, Montana Futurity back in June.  Two starts back going 8.5 furlongs in Kentucky he would pick up a Listed Stakes win in the Bluegrass Juvenile.  He moved back up for a graded start in his most recent in California going 9 furlongs in the G3, The Scam.  He would fade quickly down the stretch for home falling back to twelfth with a 92 speed rating.  The owner is moving him back down in distance for this weekend’s start and hopes this will spark his interested when he heads over to his gate representing The Mecca residency.

8BAHAMIAN COGNACFL3Msocalslew20J Wilson7586%$285,04076.003/1

Making his way out next we have this Brown Colt (BAHAMIAN SQUALL x HENNESSY x WILD AGAIN) who in his two most recent starts has looked sharp for the owner.  Two starts back he would win the Ermington Charm Dirt Sprint.  He would then make his most recent appearance in California where he would go 7.5 furlongs in the Sealed Briefing Dirt Sprint.  He was again all business and he grabbed the lead by three lengths at the third call and would then lead this field to the wire to get the win with a 105 speed rating.  The owner is in hope to see another good performance from his horse as he moves up in class and breaks from his gate to the cheers of an excited crowd.

9FABULISTICJPN3MbenbatlR Truitt7386%$114,9007.0014/1

This is a Bay Colt (REAL STEEL x NICANOR x RAHY) that has been running very well for the owner.  In his most recent start here in Dubai he would be put to the test to make his first graded start going 8 furlongs in the G3, The Dubai 2000 Guineas.  He would make a closing effort when he turned down the stretch for home, but he would fall short crossing the wire in fourth with a 93 speed rating.  He has been running longer distances in his most recent starts but the owner feels he can do well around one turn again when he heads over to his gate representing the East-West Connection residency.

10ALMOST LAWFULJPN3MstoegerG Arnold64100%$159,54018.2515/1

Next, we have this Chestnut Colt (HONOR CODE x JUSTIFY x DANZIG) that has been running well for the owner at the Allowance level picking up four wins in his six career starts.  Last time we saw him was in Japan going 7 furlongs in an $81000 Allowance start of which he would close nicely down the stretch and pick up the win by a stride with a 95 speed rating.  He will be making his first graded start this weekend as he moves up in class representing the Empire State Racing residency.

11WAR OF GOLDKY3Goakridge0M Hull5240%$86,2508.0011/1

Breaking from the final gate we have this Bay Gelding (WAR OF WILL x BERNARDINI x SEEKING THE GOLD) that has made a couple of good starts but has also seen his share of struggles.  Back in August of last season he would win a Listed Stakes start in the Summer Juvenile Stakes.  Since that win he has made three more starts of which he has found to be fruitless.  In his most recent trip, he would head out in New York going 8.5 furlongs in the G3, Gary Asher Memorial Stakes.  He found a nice spot in second out of the gate but turning down the stretch he would fade back to tenth at the wire with a 95 speed rating.  He is seeking to find his way back to the boards this weekend when he heads out of the paddock representing The Mecca residency.

Good luck to all owners and horses!
