Lawyerron Has A Big Day
Lawyerron Has A Big Day
Auction 3777: There were four horses that sold for over a million dollars this week and all went to new homes, at least as near as I can tell. The auction went up and down but never in a good way. More horses were entered but the average was down, The Computer stable took home more, less two year-olds were sold and total sales were down. Only two of the 28 senior citizens sold for more than a dollar with the 8YO stallion Genius Theory, #25275, selling for the high price of $1250.00 to Pastures3. A 9 YO stallion that hasn’t run since 2006 was the only other and was sold to Stcbonus. Burden Wish has won one of only 14 starts and certainly all the time off should have healed any injuries. Just for fun this week, I put in the stats from about a year ago.

The Millionaires:
The top selling horse this week was Iamsomeonesclone #174958. Consigned by Winnett, the unraced dark bay colt caught more than a few eyes but it was Aussie who ended up signing the ticket for $2,000,000. All trimmed in white, the appealing 2YO colt is by Any Given Saturday and out of a Turkoman mare.
Reserve honors went to one of the two sold by Lawyerron that brought more than a million dollars. Lovely Dream, hip #147646, is by Mineshaft out of a Mr. Prospector mare. The 3 YO bay colt has two wins from 14 starts and seems to be a solid performer and better yet, is lightly raced. Mainline is hoping a change of scenery will spark this guy up since he hasn’t won in nine months. Mainline put up his money and paid $1,650,021.00 to find out.
Prediction is by Seeking The Gold and won eight of her 25 starts including two stakes win before retiring to the breeding shed. She is the dam of two foals to race, both are winners and this week one of them, Valafar #159610 sold to Asta for $1,596,332. Consigned by 7heaven, Valafar, a grand looking, brown, 2 YO filly by Grand Slam has only won one of her eight races but is four for seven in the money on the dirt.
Hip #26021 Dynaforty is by, say it with me – Dynaformer out of – a big guess here… – a Forty Niner mare. The 2YO bay colt has only one win from seven starts but should improve with age and distance. Lawyerron consigned Dynaforty and Aggots signed the ticket for $1,024,870.oo and sent Lawyerron home with over two and a half million dollars on just these two horses alone.
Auction Seen:
Good weather returned to
Emit and Toplight were waiting for me at my table and it is always fun to visit with them. Toplight and I always like to hear Emit’s tales as he likes to live close to the edge and just like Irisharse, has racetrack stories that are wonderful but sometimes hard to believe. Curiousjeb stopped by for a short visit but then went off to see Radcliffe. Westsider came over and joined the Fritztown table to my left where Tonguetie was already sitting, so we decided to push the two tables together and that led to a really good time, especially after Moonface us. By the time the soft drinks had turned to something harder, Shelmo joined us also and that led to some serious drinking and tale- telling.. I have no idea when the auction ended because we stayed late and it is probably a good thing I am taking next week off.
Good Luck with all your auction purchases.
