Ingenii Slams Bookmakers
Bookmakers got it wrong and paid the price with win of Ingenii in Saturdays feature event, the $80,00 Seeking Greatness Bonanza.
Sisson’s Zamindar was installed as the favorite for the event, but astute punters only wanted one horse, and the Ouragon filly delivered under the expert guidance of A Craig by an ever widening 4L’s. Pave ran second after enjoying a nice run and is doing a good job for the stable, whilst Sisson’s Zamindar again showed that she doesn’t get the mile, and I suspect this experiment is now over and we’ll see her returned to shorter assignments in future.
The winner now takes her record to 4 from 7, and 3 from 4 on turf. Connections are eying a possible 1000 Guineas start with this filly, and whilst the time was on the slow side, she did the job well within hand and I suspect she’ll be around the mark in graded company.
The winner was labeled a moral to readers of the BTB this week, and followers would have allowed themselves to both the trifecta and exacta’s in what was a very easy race to handicap on our part, but not so for the bookies….. much to their regret.
