New Hampshire recap
Track – New Hampshire Restrictions – All horses, 2 years old Distance – seven and half furlongs on the Firm Turf Course Second favourite Urko’s Dynamite, a popular choice at trackside, was the comfortable winner of the Out To Win Stakes. New Hampshire’s leading jockey, P. Haynes, had the son of Dylan Thomas settled in last through the early stages and gradually began to pick them off from halfway. He made a strong move off the home turn and won going away to record his fifth win of the year, his fourth Stakes win in a row, which moved him up to #7 in the Juvenile Turf Sprint divisional rankings. They haven’t been the most strongest of races he has been winning but trainer Urko must be pleased with the way his colt is progressing and it’ll be interesting to see if he takes a well-earned rest now, or continues racing whilst in such good form. Hintons Red Hill won the battle for the early lead and was still travelling well turning the final bend. He had no answer to the winner’s finishing kick but there was a big seven length gap back to the third horse. Having now ran second in his last three, there is no questioning his ability, he just keeps finding one too good and he bumped into another decent animal this time. Favourite Marracash tried to go with the early pace but, as expected, was found wanting for a little speed and he finished well behind the front pair. There are still plenty of options open for this son of Galileo as he has yet to be tried on dirt and is the type who could progress next year with more distance. Blue Heat was disappointing in fourth and he looked beaten after three furlongs. Jockey B. Gates, who has partnered this horse for his last two races, had no explanation for the poor run. In fifth Kash Register doesn’t look like the same horse that was impressively winning his debut back in August and he may just be in need of a confidence booster. Pinewood Bay, who was always going to struggle making his debut at this level, wasn’t totally disgraced in last and he will have learnt a lot from this run.Race Recap– The Out To Win Stakes – $60,000
