Close racing every week at Qld

Another exciting and close race in the Unbridled Swansong Stakes race at Queensland today but it was all about the Tiger’s Eye (KY) in the end who ran a sensational race.

Harder is Better(KY) got the best jump and was straight to the lead out of the gates.  So Tempting went to the front not long after the jump along with Harder is Better(KY) and Walksthroughwalls were the early leaders in this one.  Only 6 1/2 furlongs which is 1300m in Aussie language so things were moving along fairly quickly here.  Midway through and Harder Is Better(KY) was back in the lead and looking the goods for the win.   Tiger’s Eye(KY) was sitting just off the pace in third position with So Tempting still in second place.  Then something clicked, the sky fell down and Tiger’s Eye(KY) went into top gear cruising to the lead for what was in the end a sensational win and well ridden by T Phillips. Harder is Better(KY) crossed for second place with A Jungle King(KY) flying from the rear for a well placed third.  What is interesting is So Tempting held on for fourth position but Another Hopeful(IRE) was absolutely screaming down the straight but was just too late on making his run.  Either more distance or start your run earlier and you would have had it.  Good win though to the sensational Tigers Eye(KY) – watch this one on his next run.

Dont know how all you punters fared today – certainly none of my picks came in and if there is a lesson to learn here its dont pay any attention to who I select.  I do sometimes get them but thats what being a punter is all about – you have to take the bad with the good.

See you all next week where we will start meeting all the people behind the scenes at the Queensland race track.
