GIDITINYA(GB)

angelfire

J O Bluehorse

9/2

Angelfire of the Loophole unaffiliated stable group takes a stakes shot with Giditinya (you should pronounce that to actually catch the name). The lovely Bluehorse gets the mount, and tries to increase her 7.9% winning this year.  Giditinya comes out of an allowance race in Wisconsin that she won posting a 97 speed over 8.5 furlongs. She is a 4 year old by Motivator and has won 4 times in 22 starts on the grass. She has never run at Minnesota and has never won a stakes race. She did however, place in her only stakes chance and posted a whopping 105 speed that cool day in January 08. Motivator, who can be used now for 295 bp and his progeny, produces 77% of their earnings on the turf.

TUPUNGATO(KY)

hipica

K Friar

1/2

Hispano Parlante is the home of hipica who only has one stable. That stable has over one thousand races, so this is no rookie. The track’s best jock – Friar – has the mount. Tupungato is a 4 year old mare by Rahy who has been posting some beautiful speed figures recently including a 112 two back. She last raced in a stakes in Mexico on wet grass and placed.  Rahy can be used currently for 279 bp and produces slightly more turf money than dirt (55/45). Tupungato has won 5 of her 15 turf tries including twice since March. She started her career in Minnesota back in April of 06 but tha twas on dirt and she hadn’t been back til now.

CHOCOLATIER BARB(JPN)

radarmansn

O Stinson

10/1

The long shot in the race hails from the JakeMatt Stables of DelPenn. He runs a top notch operation with 13.9% wins over 20 thousand plus races. Stinson has the mount and puts his 8.8% on the line. This three year old mare by War Emblem has only six races under her belt with only five being on the turf. She has two wins and had gotten better with each attempt. Her last race was over this distance in a stakes race, but was only against other three year olds. Her first stop in Minnesota comes in a spot that may be still over her head. Either way she gets great experience against older horses and it should benefit her moving forward. War Emblem who can be used at this moment for 199 bp produces mostly dirt profits at a 65/35 ratio.

VEGAS BEAUTY

kidvegas

E R Cothill

6/1

The Kidvegas stable belongs to King Kirby and his Ojai Valley Stables. This is a Minnesota Residency stable and should kirby win, there will be a prize arriving in an open stall next week. Comedy Central may be looking for Kirby, but we at Minnesota never lost him. Cothill, a Minnesota resident in his own right takes the mount for the kirbster. Kirby runs his stables at a staggering 15.6 winning percentage. Vegas Beauty is a 5 year old mare by Sky Mesa. Sky Mesa produces 73% of his progeny’s earnings on the dirt, and can be had currently for 242 BP. Vegas Beauty last won in October and has four wins in 29 turf starts. Surprisingly enough he also has four wins in only five dirt starts. She had been running at distance further than this one until her last start which came at 8.5 furlongs. She placed in that race and posted 97 speed figure. She has raced here three times in the past, with one win. The last time was a poor effort over 12 fulongs a distance she clearly couldn’t handle.

CROWN DUCHESS

crown

K Bowen

5/1

Crown of the Tulloch Stables is from RASH and is a 10.6% winner in his sim career, which spans just shy of twelve thousand races. The crown stable is one of his better ones posting a 12.4 WP. Tulloch has hired Bowen, the tracks second best jockey. Bowen is winning 17% of her races, just a tick shy of her career number of 17.1%. Crown Duchess is a 5 year old mare by Vindication. She has won 3 of her 14 races on the turf in her career. Her last four races have been in allowances and she has been in the money in each, despite not winning any of them. She takes the class jump today likely due to the short field. Crown Duchess has run over the Supertoy Lawn before, a race three back in which she showed. Although not racing poorly, the lack of a win since November of 2007 does raise a red flag. Vindication is a sire in the Seattle Slew family who produces 58% dirt money rather than turf. On Thursday this week at 8 pm eastern, Vindication can be used for 302 bp.

What’s Happening in Minnesota?

The Sire Series proposed schedule has been announced, and a couple of entries have already been made. Yes the gauntlet has been laid down by Marmac and Darnath. Chuckrock had a big win last week in the tag series to make the hunt for second place behind Darnath interesting. Wenlock has a nice lead in the bp contest over second place BigRick (who hasn’t been by in a while) and PazJazz and his 2 plus million in pazzfour is on his way to the money per year contest.

The residency is always looking to welcome new residents, Please feel free to stop by and say hello.
