Today’s event sees a small field of four runners where the handicapper seems to have it spot on. We have a proven Stakes performer and three others looking to step up to the mark over the mile.

Here’s how they shape up:

STORM CAT X MISWAKI X SEEKING THE GOLD

Four lifetime starts for this colt but already he’s a Stakes winner and is looking to add to that title again here today. Decided early on that dirt was not his forte and since being tried on turf has been ultra impressive winning two and a close up fourth from 3 runs. This guy will be looking to get the early lead and will be hoping to control the race in front and lead all the way. He is coming off an excellent run to win the NU CAR SMELL Stakes when leading all the way and with the top jock on board today theres no reason why he cant repeat the dose here. Strong Claims.

ORIENTOR X THEATRICAL X DIESIS

Three career starts for the guy have resulted in 2 wins and a 9^th. Impressive run at his first start when he came from well back in the field to score a good victory in a MSW posting a SF of 73. Changed stables then run in the Ant Tangle Challenge Stakes race when finishing 9^th beaten 6 ¼ lengths on an off track posting a SF of 55. Bounced back to the winners circle following that defeat when victorious in an ALW NW2L when again came from behind to win in convincing fashion by 1 length posting 71. Back to stakes grade today but experience counts for a lot and this guy is the only runner to have raced on a rain affected track which is what we have here today. May be better suited to todays small field where he will likely get back and be looking to run all over the top of the leaders in the straight. Good Chance

IVAN DENISOVICH X SEEKING THE GOLD X ELA-MANA-MOU

Three runs to date for this fellow have managed 2 wins and a 7^th. Victorious at his first two starts the first being a MSW where he came from well back and scored a good win posting a SF of 63. Followed that up with another impressive win in an ALW posting a SF of 64. Deserved his shot at Stakes and got it but found it a bit much finishing 7^th but he did make up ground late in the race. Looks to be suited by the extra trip here and that might be the key to getting some better SF’s. He will need to lift his game somewhat here today to trouble the top weight but as mentioned, the extra trip should suit and he has the services of M. Hobley who is a very highly regarded jockey in Colorado. Will be running on.

BAKERVILLE X PIVOTAL X ACATENANGO

Just two lifetime starts for this guy and will need to improve a bit here to be a threat. First up won his MSW over 4.5F by ¼ length posting a 62. Followed that up with a 5^th in a field of 6 in an ALW NW2L when beaten 5 ¼ lengths. Small field of four here today so a blowout is possible but this guy will need to improve many lengths to figure.

In summary, Pretty open field with the roughie being just 4/1 but its hard to see anything beating the top weight and favorite EL MISTI. He’s the only one proven at Stakes level and should continue on his winning way.

The results of this race will probably be identical to Post Positions.
