MAGICAL MORNING Returns with One Last Magical Moment; or was it Her Last ?
MAGICAL MORNING returned to the races on Saturday from a four-month rest and easily captured the G1 The Very Vane Stakes in sunny California by over two easy lengths. The two-time Eclipse winning mare had her ten-race winning streak broken in her last start when she finished twelfth of fourteen and showed absolutely no interest at all. “I can’t explain it.” said owner and trainer kingab. “She simply threw in a clunker, but today she was her old self.”
The six-year-old daughter of Shamardal is the Sim’s all-time leading money winner on dirt and has eight G1 victories among her eleven stakes wins while amassing almost seven million in earnings. In an exclusive interview, kingab reported that the champion mare will rest until the Breeders Bowl, where she will try to win that prize for the third consecutive time.
My goodness! Such a great mare!
