Week 3616 New Zealand racing action

Hi and welcome to New Zealand for the weekly look at what’s happening on Saturdays card.  The 10th race (a stakes affair) has carded a field of only 4 runners we will take a look at that and some other New Zealand happenings.

The GATLING APEX Stakes Seven and half furlongs Good Turf $75,000 Fillies and mares, 3 years old. These trainers have been very astute in there placement to find a 3yrod fillies race with only 4 runners let take a look at them.

1 145783 EIGHT FITZ(LA) rawumber O Rann 5/2

Rawumber Stables trains this filly by the obscure sire DOCTOR MIKE from the mare BRING ON THE NIGHT who was a stakes winner who had 10wins for over $200,000 in prize money . This filly has had 13 races so far 10 on this surface for 3 wins and 4 placing. She has steadily progressed through the allowance grades and her sp’s have increased greatly in her last 2 starts jumping into the 90’s. in stakes races over 7f she won her maiden over this journey and should run in the first three giving her some valuable stakes points.

2 93951 LIRIA(ENG) bossross N Green 8/5

Rafa Stables brings us this SHIROCCO (GER) from the D grade he-mare LIRIO who won 12 races including 1 stakes race and over $400,000 in earnings she has 8 starts so far she won her 1st start and has always run good races in good times a last start win over this distance in The WARM WARNING(GB) Stakes-Stk with a 96sp in a quick time suggest she will be hard to bowl. She is a deep closer and the small field should suit her the one to beat.

3 141281 BLOODY DRUM(CAN) xfile F Inzamam 11/1

Xfile Stables trains this filly by BUIE x AGILE SHOEBILL x SHELTER HALF who’s breeding will be known little to most of us . Her 1st 6 starts produced 5 wins and a 3rd including a stakes race which produced 1 win on dirt in Japan as a 2yrold in a strong 82sp. Her last 2 runs in allowance company have been poor she is a big outsider but if she could recapture that early form may surprise.

4 138815 LARF DA HOUSEDOWN(KY) rharfbeam T Rharfoman 4/5

Rharfo2004 Stables trains this LIMEHOUSE DISTORTED HUMOR x STORM CAT far and away the best bred runner here and ruling favourite with the bookmakers trained by one of the best in sim and a all round good guy. Clearly the best horse who has raced in stakes and graded company all her career. 10 starts for 5 wins 4 from 7 on turf including 4th in the World Cup Juvenile Filly Turf Sprint — Restricted-G1 won the The HIS GULF Special-Stk over this distance 3 starts back and last time out won the The NANE HOLLANDIA Handicap-Stk over 7f in a 99sp she looks a if she already has this one sewn up and the others look to be running for 2nd money.

Other things happening in a fine dry New Zealand this week where most fields are not full are 5 2yrold races with some well bred runners starting their careers and plenty of claiming races a very quite program considering the good stakes on offer .
