Walked all over a short field in last allowance going 12f.  Former claimer/starter can go a distance, but mainly with cheaper.  Most likely not a factor here.

Scratch bred by Aptitude, this filly broke her maiden for a tag last year and was claimed by present trainer.  She won her first stakes last out and has won two in a row.  She has won at the distance before, but will be meeting stiffer competition here.  If she can summon the reserve to run like she did last out, she’ll get a piece.

Number 4 filly in her division, this gal won a G1 three back.  Been out of the money once in her short career, has 10 victories in 13 starts, blah, blah, blah.   What is she doing here?  I find it hard to question the trainer whose record makes mine look like minor league, but it appears she is really being pushed.  She certainly doesn’t need the points.  Enough of my rambling…she wins this easy on her class, if she runs back to her previous form.

Still eligible for a starter $15,000, this 4yo is going for her 3rd stakes victory in 15 weeks.  She will have to improve slightly to win here, but she should make a very good showing.  The speed in this race appears to be on the inside, so she should settle well.  She loves to win (11 victories), so if some should falter here, who knows?

Last two races were putrid, in which she was out-classed and not running at her best distance.  Before that she was doing what comes natural to her and doing fine.  Oh, if horses could only talk.  Anyway, we all make foolish decisions at one time or another.  Let’s hope for the horse’s sake that she didn’t get too discouraged.  Depending on what the inside horses do, she may try for the lead, but it wouldn’t be to her advantage to speed duel.  She stalks well, and if the #3 horse is too pooped to pop, she has a good chance here, providing the W&T doesn’t hurt her.

This mare pops huge numbers now and then, but has been hampered by an up and down seesaw of distances by trainer.  This horse cannot find the groove she needs to perform to her potential.  Looking at her record she has won from 6f to 11f; but appears to be much more comfortable around 9f to 10f.  She probably won’t be embarrassed here and may even outrun them at the end, but my personal opinion is she should not take such big jumps in distance.  I want her for a broodmareJ
