Taking a week off from the LPGA tour, one of the ladies golfing tours hottest young players Paula Creamer, was able to come to Michigan this weekend to watch her namesake, PAULA CREAMER who happens to be one of the hottest young ladies on the tour of her own sport. The equine Creamer didn’t disappoint with an easy win and a Stakes record winning time in the Michigan Sophomore Turf Invitational Stakes .
Certainly an up and comer in the three year old filly rankings, PAULA CREAMER who under top jockey Mustoe ran a nearly perfect race for her deep closing style that enabled her to gain her 6th victory in only 12 tries. She has now won two of her last three sandwiched around a third in the GII NELL GWYNN STAKES although this was her first Graded win. She now has over $261k in earnings for trainer TuffGuy and looks like she is really hitting her stride.. She ran her fastest race with a sizzling 102.57 SPF that was her second triple digit SPF in a row and which set a new Stakes record that had stood for five years. She improved her rank to number sixteen in the three year old turf classic class.
In the race itself, TRUE CHANT jumped out to the early lead and looked as if she was going to run away and hide, building a six length lead over the competition. PAULA CREAMER immediately took up residence at the back of the pack and at one point was nearly nine lengths back . She put it into gear at the half and was still nearly six back at the top of the stretch behind TRUE CHANT but she put on a furious charge and relegated the early race leader to second place. It looked as if she could have run forever in this one and that will have to be something for the DOZA Racing Stables to think about in the future. WHERE OR WIN finished third well behind the other two. Pre race favorite, MOI LOLITA ran an uninspired race and was mired in fourth throughout. KIRBY’S BIMBO, AWESOME ANNIE, and QUANTUMIMMORTALITY were also rans in the race.
Team DOZA Stables and trainer TuffGuy have a nice looking horse on their hands and after the race as they were showing her to the human Ms. Creamer, it seemed that all was right with the world. One of the reasons I was here this weekend was to watch this special filly and I will continue to watch her progress as she finishes up her three year old campaign.
Good luck to all runners!
