Here are the sophomore ladies in post position order:

Favored Limited Addition drew gate one.  The daughter of Agnes Digital and graded placed Silver Kicker likes her action fast and furious.  She has been on or very near the lead in each of her eleven career starts.  That strategy has paid off to the tune of five victories including four straight stakes at one time.  Most recently, Kennyg’s homebred was a game fourth in the Grade I Correlation Coefficient Stakes at Keeneland.  This week she should love the shorter distance, class relief and switch to dirt from poly.  The one to beat.

Next comes Rumbler.  The big Thunder Gulch filly also likes to be up front.  She has won three stakes already and hasn’t missed the board yet in ten lifetime sprints.  Her speed numbers aren’t quite as fast as those of a few others.  But her quickness and consistency make Rumbler a serious threat in her graded bow.

Mont Allure is another multiple stakes winner and she is graded placed as well.  Techranger’s speedy Irish bred is a stalker and that style will serve her well with all the speed in here.  As good as Mont Allure has been on dirt, I have this sneaking suspicion that her best chance at future success will be on the grass.  But for now, she’s plenty fast enough to threaten these.

Pure Gloom is stakes placed and shows a few lines which could carry her close to the leaders on her best day.  But realistically, Seedly’s homebred daughter of Cryptoclearance will most likely be battling for minor spoils this week.

Deja vu.  Another daughter of Cryptoclearance at 18-1.  Chanson D’Amour may be a little too short on seasoning for these faster and more experienced fillies.  But I like the way she fights every time on the track.  Bearcub has a nice one here and she appears to have real potential. Tab for later.

Lemon Drop Mama broke her maiden at first asking.  She raced OK in her next three route starts.  Looks like Connor’s Borrego filly will relish a cutback in distance at this point in her young career.  But these fillies appear to be too much for her to handle right now.  Another to keep an eye on in the future.

Stays in Vegas has been nothing short of spectacular so far.  Six wins in eight starts including three stakes wins.  She destroyed a good field in a Jersey stake last time out.  Wayne has managed her perfectly.  The strapping daughter of Giant’s Causeway and Grade I winning millionaire, Vegas Vixen as been brought around slowly and looks all set to strike in her graded debut.

Silver City Gal is a favorite of mine.  Early in her career she was a monster.  Squity’s beast even handed  Eclipse Champion Ten Year Storm her only defeat of 2007.  But after taking the Grade I Hoserhead, the daughter of Silver Train derailed and hasn’t gotten back on track yet.  I hope she regains her two year old for soon.  But I wouldn’t bet that it will happen this week.

Next comes the royally bred Gigantic Hope.  She is by Giant’s Causeway from the Grade I winning Triple Crown Hopes.  The rangy filly has carried Migman’s familiar red and black colors to victory four times including two stakes wins.  Stalker should be well placed throughout and offer a stiff challenge through the stretch.

OK, I admit it.  I never heard of either Fire Slam or Bright Launch.  But they combined to produce a pretty nifty runner in Fire West.  Graywolf has squeezed a few allowance wins out of his former plater, but both graded attempts resulted in failure.  Must pass here.

On the far outside is the other half of the Seedly entry, Purple Crayon.  Another daughter of Cryptoclearance, this one was victorious in a stake route three back.  Two subsequent graded efforts, one on grass, were abysmal.  Perhaps the return to a dirt sprint will jump start this talented filly.
