A GRsimsters’ entry.  This 4yo filly by Dubawi stretched out late in her 3yo campaign and will have to be reckoned with as the year progresses.  This being only her 20^th start and already she’s won twice at the distance.  She is out of a mare that’s open to all the sim who has produced SW’s and a GW.  The filly’s best races to date have come on the lead; and with the inside post she should be quick out of the gate.  There is some speed on the outside; however, we figure her to be able to hold her own.  Strategy is simple…separate from the field as much as possible to hold off the late charge of the favorite.

Filly makes her home at DelPenn.  Trained by one of the top trainers and ridden by the trainer’s brother; this gal has been repenting repeatedly as of late J  Still eligible for NW3L, this is a huge jump in class.  She has run one race at the distance in a short field and finished 2^nd.  Even though the race wasn’t run in a fast time, she showed she could get the distance.  Picking up a check here is a distinct possibility as the field is not loaded with stamina.  Still lightly raced, she appears to be maturing into a nice 12f hoofer.

Stable is not supporting a residency at this time.  Jade Hunter 5yo mare that has established herself as a decent miler.  She is an underlay in this as she hasn’t proven she can get a distance beyond nine furlongs.  Her sire hasn’t produced a GW’er since 2004 which also adds to the predicament.  Back in May of 2007, she almost broke into the graded category when she missed by a nose in a G3 at Mo.  However, that was at her best distance to date.

5yo mare residing at Minnesota Downs.  Sired by Theatrical and proven at the distance, this mare should prove troublesome in this.  She showed some pretty good potential on grass in her last out.  With only her second start on the green stuff, she finished a closing 3^rd.  However, her best races have come at 14-16f on dirt.  She’s a graded winner at 14f, and cruised to a 10 length victory at Vermont two races back at today’s distance.  She can’t fall asleep here and get too far behind.

The stable is not supporting a residency at this time.  Sired by Sky Mesa this 6yo mare has been struggling since Dec. of ’07.  She was claimed in Nov of ’07 for $50,000 by new owner after winning two claiming events in a row.  Previously to being dropped down, she was a two time winner of listed stakes including one at today’s distance.  A shadow of her former self leaves one to conclude she won’t do much here.

Not a very fitting name for this mare stabled at the GRsimsters.  Her last five races have provided two wins and three 2^nd place finishes.  Scratch bred to Giant’s Causeway she is coming into this event with a listed stakes win at the distance.  She started her career on grass with a couple of victories, and then was placed dirt where she seems to have established herself well.  This will be only her 15^th start so the future holds some real promise.  She’ll have a reasonable chance in this with a slight increase in speed figures.

Stabled at Benelux, this filly is looking to fulfill her last condition with this jump in class.  She had been sprinting most of her short career and now has shown a liking for the longer routes.  She won her last out in a listed stake at 14 panels, but hasn’t raced since January of this year.  Sired by Mr. Greely she is a bit of a freak as he is noted for his sprinting abilities.  Due to the layoff, she may need this race to get back on track.

Yet another stabled at GRsimsters, this mare has fared well on both turf and dirt.  Her biggest wins to date have been listed stakes between 12-13f on dirt.  She has however won two races at 16f a year ago.  She was rested for two months before beginning her 5yo campaign and is coming back to dirt after a race on the grass in her last out.  She should improve in this as she has shown in her past PP’s with this maneuver.  Scratch bred to Pulpit with Danzig and El Prado underneath, gives solid vibes.

Perhaps some of you know this but; this mare was named after the trainer’s grandmothers loving nickname.  Probably all of us at one time or another has named our home breeds after someone or something close to our hearts.  This 5yo scratch bred by Sadler’s Wells has already accumulated 12 W’s in only 19 starts!!  Her last seven races have been at 16f and she’s won six of them.  Two being G1’s and her last out a G3.  She’s a one run dynamo that flashes by just as you think the race is over.  She’s the “one to beat”.  BTW, she resides at DelPenn.. J

Stabled at the Ohio rez, this speedball sprinter/miler is really stretching it in this.  A Buddha scratch bred that hasn’t as of yet proved she can win a listed event.  Don’t get me wrong she’s a decent sort, but this seems like a killer test for her.  Looking at her breeding it’s hard to find the stamina it will take to keep up.

The stable isn’t supporting a residency at this time.  With respect to this mare’s age we’ll be civil.  Scratch bred to Awesome again this nine year old mare is going into her 50^th start.  She was claimed way back in ’03 and picked up some nice wins in str.allow. events.  She then went on to win some allowance races and for whatever reason missed racing her 5yo and 7yo seasons.  Well past her prime, we wish her to come out of this injury free.

Stabled at GRsimsters this Maria’s Mon filly is coming fresh off a NW4L marathon win.  She posted a nice 16f win as a 3yo in a suped up allowance event at Mex.  Being full of herself after the 6 length breeze win in her last, she’s looking to make a name for herself.  Most likely will try to contest the pace in this.
