Breeder’s Bowl Turf in California

Breeder’s Bowl Turf – California Saturday 6 November 2021

Grade 1/Group 1 $3 million 3yo+.

12 Furlongs/2400 Firm Turf.

Wonderful time of year in California for this years Breeder’s Bowl series. The weather gods have been kind and we will be racing on a firm turf track. Wonderful field assembled for this year’s event, so let’s take a look at each runner and their chances.

  1. 13442 – Life Point Entry (Point of Entry) Owned by aabulb2yos – Jockey – E. Eberhard 9/2.

5yo gelding with nice overall record of 24-10-4-3 and banking $5.1 million. Form around this distance has been very good of late without winning. Last start he was 2nd in the G1 Expensive Jalopy 12F. Sat 7th around 12 lengths from the early lead. Moved to 6th around 8.5 lengths from them on the turn and finished with a rush the last furlong, beaten ¾ of a length with an SP of 116. Prior to that he was 4th in the G1 King Geoff & Queen Beth’s Emerald Stakes 12F. Sat 12th around 15.5 lengths from the lead. Moved to 11th, still 10.5 lengths from them on the turn and made ground the last furlong, though well held, beaten over 6 lengths with an SP of 112. Before that he was 4th in the G1 Grand Brazillian 12F. Sat 6th around 12 lengths from the early lead. Moved to 4th on the turn, still over 9.5 lengths from them and finished off well, beaten just over 3 lengths with an SP of 113. Prior to that he was 3rd in the G1 Sand Castle Golden Turf Classic 12F. Sat 9th around 11 lengths from the early lead. Moved to 7th around 5 lengths from them on the turn and battled to the line, beaten nearly 5 lengths with an SP of 116. Struggling to win one of late and you have to go back to February for his last win, which was sensational in the NZ Derby. Needs to recapture that form to win here. Chance.

2. 71113 – Dialintothesignal (Camelot) Owned by seabrook – Jockey – M. Walker 10/1.

4yo colt with a nice overall record of 19-9-2-5 and banking $1.7 million. Racing in career best form of late. Last start he was 3rd in the G1 Osmond’s Memorial 10F. Led early by nearly 5 lengths. Maintained the led on the turn by 4 lengths and only gathered up late, beaten just over 2 lengths with an SP of 114. Prior to that he won the G1 Judgemont International 10.5F. Sat 2nd around 3 lengths from the early lead. Still 2nd on the turn around 1 length off them but gathered momentum the last furlong to win by 1.5 lengths with an SP of 119. Before that he won the G1 Greatest Show on Turf 11F. Sat 2nd early, around 2.5 lengths from the lead. Still 2nd on the turn but within 1.5 lengths off the leader and stormed past the last furlong to win by ½ length with an SP of 114. Prior to that he won a 10F Allowance race. Led all the way and won easily by 2.5 lengths in the end with an SP of 111. Since moving to these longer trips he has really fired and is in terrific form. Should be stalking the pace and run well. Great chance.

Prior to that he won an 11F Allowance. Sat 3rd around 8 lengths from the lead but moved strongly in the stretch to mow down the leaders to win by 3 lengths with an SP of 110. Prior to that he was 3rd in the G1 Windy City Turf Classic 10F behind Who Warned You (1st). Sat 14th around 12 lengths from the lead. Moved to 12th around 8 lengths off them on the turn and ran home okay but soundly beaten, 5.5 lengths with an SP of 114. Before that he was 2nd in the G1 Man of War Stakes 11F again behind Who Warned You (1st). Sat 5th around 3 lengths from the lead. Moved to 2nd around 1 length off them on the turn but couldn’t hold off the winner, beaten 3 lengths with an SP of 115. Prior to that he was 4th in the G1 Tattersalls Gold 10.5F. Forget last run as wasn’t comfortable on the sifting track. Hasn’t won a race since August last year. Been going okay but this is a hot race. Chance.

Prior to that he was 7th in the G2 Sandy Ray Hcp 12F. Sat 10th around 12.5 lengths from the lead. Moved to 8th around 8 lengths off them on the turn but only battled the last furlong, beaten over 9 lengths with an SP of 107. His last few runs have been an exceptional pointer for this race and he has to be given a massive chance. Can see him steaming home over the top. Big chance.

4yo colt with impressive record of 15-8-4-0 and banking $3.3 million. Absolutely flying at the moment with 4 G1 wins in last 4 starts. Last start he won the G1 Classic Turf Stakes 12F. 4yo colt with overall record of 22-7-0-2 and banking $948k. Been in poor form of late and hard to see him winning here. Last start he was 7th in the AA day at the races with URC 12F. Sat 20th around 14 lengths from the early lead. Moved to 17th around 11 lengths from them on the turn and battled to the line the last furlong, beaten 9 lengths with an SP of 109. Prior to that he was 9th in the G1 Champion Stakes 10F. Sat 14th around 17.5 lengths from the lead. Sat 8th around 10 lengths from the lead. Moved to 7th around 7 lengths off them on the turn and finished best to win by a neck with an SP of 111. 14. 51116 – Red Kornsnake (Sea the Stars) Owned by vettstars. – Jockey – K. Ledwith – 12/1.

5yo horse with an overall record of 19-8-4-1 and banking $1.2 million. He has been impressive prior to last start but looking to rebound. Last start he was 6th in the G1 Classic Turf Stakes 12F behind Who Warned You (1st). Sat 2nd around ½ length from the early lead. Dropped to 4th nearly 2 lengths off them on the turn and faded the last furlong, beaten 8.5 lengths with an SP of 104. Prior to that he won the G1 Sword Swallower Stakes 12F. Sat 3rd around 3.5 lengths from the lead. Moved to within 2 lengths of the lead on the turn and battled on well the last furlong to win by ¼ of a length with an SP of 108. Before that he won G3 Stars and Bars 12F. Sat 3rd around 4 lengths from the lead. Moved to 2nd on the turn, around 3 lengths from them before battling on strongly the last furlong to get up by a head with an SP of 116. Prior to that he won the G3 CEO Classic 12F. Sat 3rd only ¾ of a length from the lead. Took over on the turn by ¾ of a length and held on to win by a length with an SP of 118. If he can rebound from last start, then he is a major player. Will camp on the speed and give his all. Big chance.

Many chances in a very open race. Hard to pick a winner.

6. Who Warned You – In such superb form at the moment and must be a huge threat. 6/1

2. Dialintothesignal – Been really good since going the long route. Big chance. 10/1.

14. Red Kornsnake – Forgive his last run and he can feature here. 12/1.
