1 | UNEXPECTING(KY) | 4/1 | Out of a “B” rated mare that is open to all simmers, this gal’s first race as a 3yo was a great way to start off the year. Just missing out to a filly that was hot after two consecutive wins. She will now try her 1st attempt on the green stuff. Breeding suggests that this may not turn out well, but in the sim; who knows? Trainer is one of the big dawgs at DelPenn so I’ll leave it at that. He may accuse me of being an old fart that is losing his mind. J

3 | STREET ABCESS(KY) | 12/1 |
Filly broke her maiden at the distance and has a win at +.5f farther. So she has a step up on some in this. Her 1st start of the new year was at 9 panels in which she flashed some speed. Dropping back to her apparently preferred distance should be meaningful. Decent jock should bring out her best.
4 | JUNIOR ACHIEVER(KY) | 4/1 |
Scratch bred to Lemon Drop Kid. Filly has a lot of speed as attested by her showing in the Whodini Shootout G2 two races back. A lot of energy was expended and she faltered in her last. Both were graded events and now she’s back in listed. The problem here may be the distance as she couldn’t hang on last time she ran a mile. It all depends on whether she’s pushed in this early. Her 7.5f victory last year suggests she could be a good miler, but it will depend on whether the jock can get her to rate.
5 | ETRUSCA( | 6/1 |
This filly is out of an “F” rated mare that is producing well. Filly has 4 wins in her last five outs and posted a SP97 in her last. That may have taken a lot out of her and now going a mile for the first time will be more demanding. She likes to stalk and the pace in this should be quick. That scenario and a crummy jock could be her downfall.
6 | CIRCUS PLUME( | 3/1 |
Coming off her last race at VT against some very tough fillies, this gal should be in great shape for this event. The race prior had her closing fast to finish second in a nice time. With the speed in this race she should have the upper hand in the stretch drive. Hot jock and good condition should lead to a great finish here.
7 | 7/1 |
This Dynaformer filly has nothing to prove as far as being able to handle the distance of today’s event. She already has three wins at the distance. It appears she ran into some traffic problems in her last G3 effort. With no place to go, her jock just rode her out. Jock Ross knows this track like the back of his hand and won’t put her in that position here. As the speed goes wide on the turn for home he’ll have her hugging the rail for her final push.
8 | SCRIPTORIUM(KY) | 6/1 |
Kingmambo filly that’s coming off a mile allowance win in her last. She posted her best SP to date in that and may have a little bit of a bounce here. That, coupled with a classier field here may cause some anxious moments in the gate. Let’s see if jock Silver can calm her down to put in a good effort.
9 | PILLARS OF KINGS(AUS) | 24/1 |
Flying Spur filly sporting long odds in this due to her slow times in her short career. She’s out of a “D” rated he/mare that did quite well on the green stuff. Sire has produced mainly sprinters to date; so that doesn’t help. She will really have to upgrade to do well here.
I like the #6 filly to run big here.
