THEO’S TOP 10 WATCHLIST

Each week I will focus on one division (older male, older female, 3yo male, 3yo female, 2 year olds will start in July). The rankings are taken by the sim division rankings via stakepoints and I add a little comment to each horse. Note in my lists horses are only eligible to be one one list and must have run 3 races in a row in a division to be eligible for that condition. Also, if a horse runs 3 times in a row in another division they would be removed from the list as well.

The chart is listed with this weeks ranking, last weeks ranking, horse name, this weeks stake points, last week’s stake points and a brief comment on the horses recent performance.

The 3YO colt division is featured this week.

Hope to see your horses on the top 10 watchlist soon.

3YO MALES—DIRT SPRINTS

(1) (1)—INDY PROSPECTOR(FL)—(242) (224)—won his 08 debut in ID and then tried 8f finishing a closing 2nd last time out which could mean he will be leaving this division soon.

(2) (2)—SWIFTSURE(KY)—(216) (208)—couldn’t hold onto the lead in the stretch in 08 debut but the race still beat his 07 finale.

(3) ()—MAGICAL DANZ(IRE)—(128) (128)—early speed duel with favorite in VA Grade I killed both of them but will he come back sprinting or keep trying for the big prize.

(4) (4)—SPEEDTOWN(KY)—(128) (112)—has now finished 1st or 2nd in each of his last 5 starts.

(5) (5)—ADONAI(KY)—(113) (109)—did not run very good in Vemont and may be returning to sprinting in his next start.

(6) (6)—BELONG TO WHO(KY)—(108) (102)—i guess they are still tyring to figure out whether or not they have a dirt or grass sprinter on their hands.

(7) (8)—MEGS THE CAT(KY)—(88) (72)—2/2 in 2008 with a sparkling 106 speed rating in his last start.

(8) (7)—TIMER STOPPER(CA)—(77) (77)—missed the board for the first time ever last time out but obviously got tired leading the pack in the slop and will be happy to comeback on a dry track next time out.

(9) (NA)—I DON’T GET IT(KY)—(76) (NA)—Minnesota IHM memorial winner was a hard closing 2nd in his 2008 debut in Wyoming.

(10) (NA)—FRISKY N FAST(AUS)—(76) (NA)—started off the 08 season the exact way he finished of 07 by wiring a short field dirt sprint stake race in the EAAA division.

3YO MALES—DIRT CLASSIC ROUTES

(1) (1)—FLEET DAISY(KY)—(241) (209)—eclipse award winner rallied for 3rd in Vermont Grade I last time out and perhaps now this colt will stick to the dirt.

(2) (NA)—THE GUN WENT OFF(KY)—(189) (NA)—vaults his way onto the top 10 list with a heartstopping last to first finish in Vermont Grade I in 2008 debut.

(3) (2)—JESUS WALKS(KY)—(168) (164)—failed to show his usual strong stretch kick last time out but the speed rating was still a triple digit which is the envy of many of his classmates.

(4) (3)—BROADWAY DANCER(KY)—(160) (160)—did not care for the off track in Denmark and has not looked the same since the World Cup.

(5) (9)—PYRALIS(KY)—(151) (119)—couldn’t duplicate his big run in N California last time out in the Vermont Grade I.

(6) (4)—SARDINI(KY)—(147) (147)—has been badly beaten in his 2 starts in 2008 and looks like he may have to shorten up on the distance in the future.

(7) (5)—ZABEEL WARRIOR(AUS)—(145) (141)—was given a confidence boosting allowance win after finishing way behind in back to back Graded stakes.

(8) (6)—ALYDAR AGAIN(KY)—(144) (140)—Vermont race did not look great but he was closing at the wire and I still think this one will be at his best when the races go 10f and further.

(9) (7)—GRATEST(FL)—(142) (140)—has 2 wins in 2008, 1 on the dirt and 1 on the turf with the turf being the faster race—is he off to greener pastures?

(10) (8)—SUITED AK(JPN)—(132) (132)—had a rough time in Vermont Grade I last time out after wiring the field in his prep for the big race.

3YO MALES—DIRT LONG ROUTES

THIS LIST WILL START LATER IN THE YEAR WHEN THE DIVISION HAS STRETCHED OUT IN DISTANCE.

3YO MALES—TURF SPRINTS

(1) (1)—LARGENT(ENG)—(192) (192)—missed the board in SA for the first time last time out and hopefully the 47 speed rating was only a minor blip on the radar screen

(2) (2)—DOTH’RAKI(KY)—(149) (148)—2008 debut was at 8 furlongs where his rally came up well short but will he be routing or sprinting in the future?

(3) (3)—CREZZINO(ENG)—(145) (145)—his AZ Grade I makes it 2/2 in stretch collapses when going long—perhaps he should stick to sprinting.

(4) (4)—PROUD CHARM(KY)—(127) (117)—another who did not look out of place when extending to 8 furlongs and that may have him leaving this division soon.

(5) (5)—BOOM GATE(ENG)—(108) (108)—ran a stinker in 2008 debut in Vermont at 8f and may have needed a prep before trying the Grade I race.

(6) (6)—HANNAH’S HORIZON(IRE)—(96) (96)—missed the baord in a turf sprint for the first time last time out in MN.

(7) (9)—PALTICS COLT BG(KY)—(96) (76)—late rallying turf sprinter came up short last time out but still extended his streak to 9 by finishing in the top.

(8) (NA)—PAINT ME SILVER(KY)—(84) (NA)—has now won 3 in a row on the turf including Grade III Roasted Weanies stakes.

(9) (8)—DARK PASSAGE(ENG)—(82) (82)—started this year with an 8f flop and that makes it 2 bad races in a row.

(10) (NA)—AUTHENTIC FABLE(ENG)—(73) (NA)—sneaks into the last spot on the chart as many in this division are testing the waters by going 8f or more.

3YO MALES—TURF CLASSIC ROUTES

(1) (8)—HOARFROST HILL(IRE)—(225) (97)—had a big 2008 debut by winning Grade I mile with a lofty 104 speed rating to jump to the top of the chart.

(2) (1)—SPARTIATE(ENG)—(204) (204)—was rallying in the stretch but was no match for the top one here last time out.

(3) (2)—BUCK’S PARTY(ENG)—(182) (180)—eclipse award winner ran an even 2nd in 2008 debut but that race was just a prep for bigger and better things to come.

(4) (3)—RAGING MENACE(WA)—(161) (161)—dirt experiment last time out was a disaster—back to the turf and hopefully back to the EAAA where he seems to run better.

(5) (4)—WOETTE’S SLIPPER(KY)—(153) (153)—missed the board for the 1st time in 2008 debut in Arizona.

(6) (5)—CURIOUS CANDY(KY)—(144) (144)—Vermont may be for lovers but it sure wasm’t for this guy last time out.

(7) (6)—MANATEE BAD BOY(IRE)—(135) (135)—still on layoff after tough end to the 07 season.

(8) (7)—THE STARDUST(ENG)—(129) (129)—a pair of last place finished in a row now have this colt’s handlers wondering what to do next.

(9) (NA)—SAINT VIVANT(KY)—(128) (NA)—has rallied well in his last pair of races both at 8f and the results may point to him being better as he stretches out in distance.

(10) (9)—IDOL WORSHIP(ENG)—(88) (80)—rallied for a 2nd place finish in his 08 debut in Victoria and posted his first ever triple digit speed rating.
