Sisters Pelikar Stake Results

Atlantis King showed a bit of Royality in the Sisters Pelikar Stakes this weekend. Atlantis King (my 3rd choice) was much the best, paying his backers $13.00 to his supporters. Atlantis, once again, showed his preference for the off-track. Atlantis sat 4th behind early pace setter Mr. Mistoffilees. Just past the 3/4 pole, Atlantis bullied his way to the front end and ran off to a nice 3 length victory over his loyal subjects.

Mr. Mistoffilees put in a worthy effort on the good track, holding on to second.

Skybolt made a late rush from the middle of the pack to finish 3rd.

My top pick, and the race favorite, Hawkfly Pharbart (5-2) ran flat on the track finishing in a dismal sixth place. Jockey Lawton commented that Hawkfly showed signs of disliking the wet surface.

Sisson’s Gulch, my second selection, finished a respecable 4th in his first stakes appearance. I still believe there are good things in this horses future.

22-1 War Gild was in the hunt early, running 3rd, before slowly drifting back and settling for a 5th place pay check.

Cornfield County continued with his inconsistancy, taking the 6th spot.

Death Cab challenged the pace early before totally collapsing and finishing behind the entire field.

Top Notch Hero, Awesome Sky and Billdanziggold took the 8th to 10th spots respectfully. None of these showed much to be proud of.
