Time of race: 1:53 2/5

Ermington Pegusus broke cleanly and settled toward the back of the second tier running smoothly and relaxed.  Moved up slightly on the turn waiting for an opening of tiring horses and whisked to the front at the 1/16^th pole.  Ataun who ran ahead of winner for most of the race, made a game move in the stretch but was no match for the winner in the final drive.  Passing Stone broke sharply, set pace, and hung on for dear life to retain third.  Specimen X raced gamely while stalking pacemaker, but didn’t have anything left in the stretch.  Summer Wine tried to make up ground on the turn for home, but ran out of gas.  The rest of the field didn’t threaten.
