Auction Jumping Like After Christmas Sale
Auction Jumping Like After Christmas
Auction 3448 – Wow! I think everyone must have gotten some money for Christmas and they were all bound and determined to spend it at the after Christmas sale. Six horses sold for over a million dollars and only one was an obvious stable transfer. Marre, under stables Bobo and Mariauas even bought two of the million dollar plus horses. All facets of the auction were up except one – the Computer stable took home 27 fewer horses this week than last. And that, I think is a good thing.

Auction Observations:
Will the rain never cease around here? I think I need a new and larger umbrella or this place needs some under roof parking! I arrived at my table soaking wet, but the powers that be had the fire blazing and a large crowd was on hand to look at the many offerings this week. The Happydays group was buying en masse and Feedbucket came by with Myhorsebig arguing over the merits of some of the many 2 YO’s being offered. Turkeyboy missed Thanksgiving and said he was happy to be here. Dandaman was looking up at 1000stars and the Bear clan was keeping a sharp eye on Lionhound and Goatracker. Apropos of nothing, I have a lion hound named Abraham so we had a bit of a chat. Fearnaught came by with Wahoo who hasn’t been seen much recently and Teaplanter earns my favorite name of the week mention. No prize, just a mention. Texasace sat himself down moaning that he still hasn’t been able to sell his two random horses. I told him he just needed to take that $500,000 reserve off of them and he might get them sold. He’s a stubborn soul, so I don’t know if I convinced him or not. He’s always fun to visit with but he wouldn’t tell me why he keeps consigning those two horses even though I asked everyway I could think of.
The Millionaires:
The top seller this week was a 3 YO dark bay colt by Awesome Again. Hip # 135175, Credit Change, was consigned by Brentuk2 and has won three of 16 starts. A solid allowance horse, he is capable of 100 + speed figures but seems to stop like he hit a wall and might be a bleeder. Hopefully Bobo can find the key to this $4,664,115.00 auction purchase.
Milk Cow Blues, # 2210, was consigned by Sarava02. The 4 YO bright chestnut filly by Pientre Celebre is a winner of four of her 26 starts and is another that is capable of the 100 + speed figure. All trimmed in white she turned several heads, but it was Acote, one of the rich GRsimsters, who paid $3,200,001 to take her home
A racy looking bay colt named Formed by War, hip # 139076, was the second high dollar purchase by Marre. Signing the ticket as Mariauas, he liked what he saw in this stakes placed 2 YO colt by War Chant, and was willing to pay $2,300,000.00 for him.
Skunkbarn3 has just resurfaced and must have had his accounts drawing high interest as he forked over $1,500,000 for a 4 YO plain brown filly named The Brutalizer, hip # 119464. She has won four of 22 starts including last time out. By Montjeu she could have been had for a paltry $2,500 two races back. Yielding was the consignor.
Funny Car, hip # 106993, brought $1,000,001 from Billy2shoe. A rangy copper chestnut 2 YO colt by Speightstown, he has only started five times and has run very greenly in several of those. Jockeymax6 didn’t have room to keep him around and put him up for sale, much to Billy2shoe’s delight.
The 2 YO dark bay filly, Nacho Slick # 147472, was a stable transfer between Billy2shoe and Gregchilds. The best finish in three starts for this daughter of Bel Esprit was a fourth, two back, but there is always room for improvement. It cost them $1,000,000.00 even to get the deed done.
Stc Auction:
Stc play begins next week and most trainers were just filling the few stalls they had open in preparation. The trainers bought 42 horses and paid an average of $890.28 for them, for total sales of $ 37,392.00. Vettstc bought the most expensive horse of the group. He paid $77.001.00 for a 2 YO colt by Scrimshaw. Named Shaw (hip # 147532), Vettstc bought the lightly raced, maiden colt from Ewhisper. The second highest price among the Stc trainers this week was paid for Wispa (hip #120541). Roscoestc signed the ticket for the winning, 3 YO son of Sir
That’s it for this week. Good luck with all your auction purchases.
