Mad Star has been a busy little filly and has improved a little of late, but even her best leaves her with a mountain to climb with the favorite. 2 runs back she achieved her pb speed figure when finishing runner up in an 8 furlong nw2l allowance in Germany, settling in 2nd and staying there the whole race to run a 78. Lto led until the furlong pole but managed to keep on for 3rd in a mile stakes at this track, running a 75. Cant see her troubling the favorite today.

Lto tackled a mile for the first time and although not good enough to trouble the leaders she still put up a respectable performance to finish 6th, beaten 4 3/4 lengths in her first try in stakes company. This is a little easier today and she will improve, but whether she can improve enough to go past the favorite is the big question.

She led all the way at Queensland that day to record only her second success with a speed of 84. As good as that run was, with the favorite looking so strong she will probably need a little more here today. She may well end up shooting for a place.

Surprisingly though he isnt progressive and needs to achieve a lifetime best, and by a considerable margin to hold any chance of upsetting the favorite here. It looks even more unlikely when you consider the furthest he has traveled is 6.5 furlongs and takes a hike in distance here. His stamina has to be taken on trust, and I dont trust it.
