Bargain Bred Series Kaif Mile

Breeding cheaply does merit and that is part of what the Bargain Bred Series tries to prove. More than in any other prestigious Graded or Stakes race you will find horses in the Bargain Bred Series that are entered far above their potential and we see no different here today in the race over one mile Turf where a lot of the horses seem to just fill up the numbers.

The Favorites:

ANKALINE: 5 years of age and over 400,000$ in earnings. He won 11 of his 27 races and already has participated in several of the Bargainraces. Two starts ago he even won the race over 10 furlongs going from wire-to-wire. He won two Stakesraces this year and seems to be in form winning two of his last three races and posting his best speeds ever. No doubt he will be the one to beat this year. Last year he raced the 10f race in this series and finished second. Starts at 3/1.

PLAYING GROUND: don’t underestimate this three year old colt from trainer foxon. All his races till now were on this distance and he managed to win 2 of them. Not too much you might say but in those eight races he managed to post a +100 speed three times with 107 being his best. That is the best speed set on this distance by any of today’s contenders. He also is a frontrunner and we will see a serious battle with Ankaline from start to finish. Also at 3/1.

SHOAIB AKHTAR: another three year old which seems to be blossoming at this moment. This filly won 8 of her 19 races and managed to win the last two. One of them was on eight furlongs where she won in a 104 Speed figure and which was against older mares too. Only minus is that she has been taking on the boys in the past but was not able to come close yet. So this is her next try. She likes to stalk the leaders and bot earlier mentioned horses will hear her breathing in their necks. Outsider according to the bookies at 8/1, but one of the favorites according to me.

The Outsider:

FAR BEYOND THE SUN: another five year old colt and in fact the titleholder of this race. Last year was a real slow race and he was able to win in a speed of only 91. With the favorites being able to go +100 this race will be much faster and the level has been raised a bit. This colt already has shown he is able to post better speeds than last year but maybe that is not sufficient. Will come out of the gates just behind the leaders and in my opinion will stay there. Rated at 5/1

BLIND MIX: this five year old colt out of Bletchley Park and racing for the lgboststables comes to the start at 4/1 according to the bookies. This rating is mainly based upon his speeds, however this colt is a shot in the dark. All his earnings come from racing on the dirt and the turf is an unknown factor for him. He raced on it once in his early career but that resulted in a disaster. Off course this could have been result of just an offday too. five year old colt and in fact the titleholder of this race. His latest winning already dates back from summer last year so I believe these odds that he got assigned are a bit inaccurate. Let’s see how he does

The Rest of the pack:

CASH TRESHOLD (12/1): 6y old that picks up the occasional cheque in the higher claimers.

LENDER OF HOPE (39/1): 3y old claimer not managing to do better than a 84 Speed Figure

JETLINER (15/1): 6y old allowancehorse that is racing above his class in the allowances: only picked up a cheque once this year.

REV’S HERCULEAN (23/1): 6y old that has been put in a variety of races (allowances, starters, higher claimers) which looks only fit for the lower claimers.

PURPLE HEATHER (11/1): 4y old claimer/allowance who raced only 4 races this year: all longer sprints but each time on the board. Latest race in a speed of 97. Never done well on a mile turf.
