1 | SLEW THE HOLY(KY) | 5/1 | Scratch bred filly by Holy Bull. One of the few that likes coming off the pace in this speed orientated event. She’s coming off a nice win with NW2L. Her SP’s aren’t up there with some in here, but with so much speed in this she has a shot of picking off the spent ones.
2 | ALSAZZENE(AUS) | 9/2 |
Bred from a “G” rated mare this filly by Alsaleet (a bargain sire), she hasn’t been OTM in her six starts. She just racked up her highest SP in last at seven panels while finishing second. As with those outside her, she likes the front end and will see much company. With Ross in the irons, he may be able to judge this race well enough to make sure she doesn’t burn herself out for the drive for home. It will be interesting to see how the strategy goes.
3 | MOCHA GRAND(KY) | 5/2 |
Interesting filly here. She’s out of a “D” rated mare that loved the green stuff. The mare has one other progeny that has a win on dirt and turf albeit in claimers. This gal flashes signs of being a little special with her nice SP’s in her first two races. Coming off a maiden victory flashing an 84SP, she will either show her greatness or bounce like a rubber ball. We will wait for results.
4 | STORM FORECAST(KY) | 7/2 |
Bred to a “G” rated mare that has finally produced something to write home about. This gal has seen much stiffer competition in her last four starts. She’s coming out of the Frickazee Stakes G1, where she folded after six. Coming back to sprints and lesser, she should make a statement. Jock is questionable however, and is a concern.
5 | FATALE(KY) | 5/2 |
Filly out of an “F” rated he/she mare. Plugged in as co-favorite, she is very consistent with her SP’s. Her last two outs have been at a mile and this drop in distance is to her advantage. With some “legs” under her after the mile events, she may have what it takes to grind this out.
6 | SILVER SMOKER(KY) | 6/1 |
Out of an “F” rated mare this filly is hard to knock. Four starts with three W’s. Has the running style that suits well here. Her last slow win was due to an off track; so she should improve here. Silver is making noise this year, so she should get a good ride.
This is a tough call – Rev’s exacta = 4 with all.
