Irish Prayers are Answered!

Irish Prayer is building on an impressive resume after her wire-to-wire win in the PHAR IN THE SADDLE SPECIAL from lovely Portugal. The six furlong turf stakes for 2 year olds was run on a beautiful sunny day that this area is so well known for.

Irish Prayer, the Noverre Filly out of Global Girl has now run 1st,2nd and 3rd in her first three races, two of them in stakes. She has amassed winnings of nearly $50k in that time. In her first two races, she seemed to just miss at the end but held on here with a respectable time of 1:11 4/5 (76) and a two length victory. It remains to be seen if the short races are her strength or if she can stretch it out with her Desert King and Saddler’s Wells influence.

Post Haste, the Loup Savage filly hung in gamely, watching just off Irish Prayer throughout but couldn’t pull the trigger at the end. She has been three times of four in the money and did well for her inaugural stakes. SJ’s Royal Dixie, the Dixieland Band offspring finished a respectable third and is 5 of 5 in the money. This was her third stakes race, all with third place finishes.

There is lots of potential in this group but they still have a way to go, but there is plenty of time for that with these good looking 2 year olds
