Welcome to Kentucky for todays feature over the extended seven furlongs for the ladies on the fast dirt course. A good sized filed of 11 go to post and most seem to have a decent chance. Let’s take a look at the runners-

POSITIVES
Lovely breeding, has won over todays trip and has reached the money in her last three stakes runs, winning one. Likes to sit near the front so if she’s good enough she’ll be in the right place to challenge. Handles any ground.
NEGATIVES
Only one for me- she looks as though a step up to 9f could be in order and she’s bred to get that trip.
OVERALL
Despite some reservations about the trip she must be a threat to the field but may be vulnerable to a more natural sprinter. Solid place claims.
NEEDLE IN THE HAY(KY) (APTITUDE x UNBRIDLED x RAHY) |
POSITIVES
Has been running in stakes and Graded races since she was two and has a recent stakes and Grade III win.Big sp of 105 to get fourth in the World Cup Long Sprint. At her best runs up with the pace.
NEGATIVES
Although that last race was good, it confirmed that she may now want further. Didn’t have the pace at the end over 7f and must want further.
OVERALL
Has to be a threat on that last run alone but wants further for me, top five at best as they should go too quick here.

POSITIVES
Has a recent stakes win and Graded second, won her last race with an sp of 103.
NEGATIVES
Sound like a broken record but this one is crying out for more distance. Has neede it for several races now. Only won an allowance latest with a late run.
OVERALL
Could struggle a bit today as she looks to want at least 9f. May get behind early and will struggle to catch up.

POSITIVES
Won thre recent allowance races, her latest with a whopping 107 sp over 7f. Had been running well over trips that were probablt too short so clearly possess tactical speed.
NEGATIVES
That last run is head and shoulders above anything else she’s done – was it a one off?
OVERALL
There’s plenty of distance blood in that pedigree so assuming she’s a late maturing sort that last run could be the real deal. I give her the benefit of the doubt- likely winner

POSITIVES
Has won three of her last five races and clrearly gets the trip having won over 8f latest.
NEGATIVES
Hasn’t reached the 100 sp point this year and has only won allowances. Another who looks to be crying out for more distance.
OVERALL
With those sp’s and only allowance wins she looks set to struggle.

POSITIVES
Good sp of 106 latest over 7f, three recent wins and four sp’s over 100.
NEGATIVES
Inconsistant, two early 100 sp’s followed by three in the low 90’s and then two over 100.
OVERALL
Geez, hard to call, will get the trip and still should have some speed. That last sp was very good. Could be anywhere from fifth to first. I don’t know.

POSITIVES
Three wins in her last eight races.
NEGATIVES
Has only bettered a 90 sp twice, only run in allowances and hasn’t looked like winning for four races.
OVERALL
Out of her depth and then some.
GHOSTLY BREEZE(KY) (GHOSTZAPPER x PINE BLUFF x MEADOWLAKE) |
POSITIVES
The second biggest earner in the field and a Grade I winner over 8f, she also has a recent third in a GradeI.
NEGATIVES
Has become disapointing, having to drop dowm to allowance level to record her first win in six. Only 1 sp over the 100 mark. Looks to have peaked.
OVERALL
Doesn’t look like there is a whole lot left in terms of graded racing, only winning an allowance with a 96 sp is hardly graded form. Could struggle.
MORE SLEW(TUR) (MUJTAHID x SEATTLE SLEW x STORM BIRD) |
POSITIVES
Has handled dirt before and has earned some money in Graded races. Looks to need this trip at least and could be a bit of a surprise package.
NEGATIVES
Never broke the 100 barrier, been racing on turf, has struggled in some allowances recently.
OVERALL
That one dirt run over a trip too short hold some promise, could sneak a top five but on form will be in the last three.

POSITIVES
Three runs in a row over the 100 sp mark, a recent stakes win over 7f with a 104 sp.
NEGATIVES
No graded wins but that’s about it.
OVERALL
Interesting, clearly looks like this is her trip and ran a career best latest over 6.5f. Sits just off the pace and should have the pace to kep there. Big danger to all and should make the top three.

POSITIVES
Biggest earner in the field, five runs in a row with sp’s over 100, three in a row with sp’s over 110. Has won six of her last eight including two Graded races. Loves the trip and is well rested.
NEGATIVES

OVERALL
Those last three sp’s would win most all aged Graded races and she looks nailed on for the win. Nothing in the field has run within six sp points of her, look fior the trademark closing charge in the last quarter. The winner.
