World Cup Ladies Turf Survivor G1
I’ve had to travel a long way to cover this race and I’ve got to admit the surroundings are not familiar to me in Ohio well at least the track is turf . Flying over with the mighty FENZA team from New Zealand I had a lot of time to study this field . At this time I would like to thank those trainers who took time out to speak to me at the track this morning. These comments help make the article more personal and I hope I do your charges justice. All these runners are worthy of lining up in this race and do their countries and trainers proud. This type of World Cup racing can only add to the great sim we are all members of. To have a horse race for you is great but to have one run for a third of the planet is the greatest honour of all. This race is the World Cup Ladies Turf Survivor Grade I Two miles Firm Turf $500,000 Fillies and mares, 3 years old and up lets take a look at this magnificent field .

MINESHAFT x SAINT BALLADO x UNBRIDLED
A very lightly raced 5yrold mare that has had 19 starts for 10 win . She has won on dirt as well as turf and has handled the ultimate distance having won 6 times at 2miles. She has won in graded company and her trainer Pierchinski Stables is no stranger to top class racing . This chestnut mare looked a treat when being loaded of the plane earlier this week and has blossomed with track work since. The trainer is playing his cards pretty close to his chest with this mare but he couldn’t hide the smile on his face after Thursdays hit out on the course proper. Even though race is over 2miles her style of racing suggests the draw will help her slip to the front from the jump then she may take some running down.

IN THE WINGS(GB) x TAIKI BLIZZARD x EXCLUSIVE ERA
This 5yrold mare doesn’t win them out of turn but she has been very consistent with 6 wins 10 seconds and 8 thirds in 39 starts. She has not won since November last year. This will be her first run in graded company but she has performed well in stakes company. She is the only foal from the 9yrold mare PRINCESS FIRST she is by a great staying sire IN THE WINGS(GB) but his damsire and dams dams sire are a bit obscure. She is trained by Flurgen Stables who is a great supporter of the Newcastle Knights rugbyleague team The NRL if his racing colours and stable photo are anything to go by. If she shows as much fight as they did at end of year she may run into a place here. The SADLER’S WELLSx SEATTLE SLEW x EXCLUSIVE NATIVE . in her pedigree would suggest she will stay all day. She will get well back in field and look to flash home late.
PP3 86081 SUGARED GRAPES(KY) roscoe6 F Mac 34/1 Australia / New Zealand / Far East
EUROSILVER x CHIEF BEARHART x LION CAVERN
Avery interesting runner one of two trained by Rharfo a trainer who gave me a great start in the sim with his generosity. A lightly raced 3yrold who has only raced 7 times but has won her last 3 starts since switching to turf long distances . Her breeding might suggest dirt sprints but her dam KENNEL COUGH did win over middle distances . I poke to her trainer on Thursday and he said that although it is a high jump in class all she can do is win and she has won the last two starts by 6Lengths both times. He also said a win would be surprise but the potential of this filly excites him and who knows there are always big upsets in these types of races. Will race handy to the pace and look to slip clear at top of the stretch.

WAR CHANT x PERSIAN BOLD(IRE) x BOUNDING BASQUE
One of the class runners of the field by the sire of the moment WAR CHANT who produced about a half dozen stakes and graded winners last week. A true champion mare her record is 44 races 17 wins and $1,169,280 in stakes. She trained by The Big Oil Conglomerate [Ft. LordPye] and has the services of one of the top jockey riding here which will stand in her favour . While she is a top mare she has always found the ultimate distance in this grade a bit to far so it will be interesting to see if she has anything left for the last furlong. Her recent for would suggest she is right at her best despite her age and she may well get the cash.
PP5 140015 MAADLY(TUR) claimace M Grunhard 12/1 Europe / Scandinavia
MANILA x BROAD BRUSH x BOLDNESIAN
Trained by another good friend Jacklad Empire who trained his 3yrold filly early on in the morning on Thursday before we all got their so i missed asking him about this filly. Luckily I have spoken to him about this filly and her near relative MAAD who is also racing in the world cup before . the breeding cross of these two fillies has captured his imagination and it has paid good rewords. Its really hard to get a line on this filly in this race. She has only started 7 times for 3 wins and 3 seconds . if she can make the jump to this class will be in it. She is unproven at the distance but i hope she runs a great race here mate.
PP6 129673 MON COUP(IRE) lasthope1 C Wyatt 16/1 North / South America
MONTJEU (IRE) x KINGMAMBO x SEATTLE SLEW
Bred in the purple comes this 3yrold filly trained by Dixiedotco Racing i spoke to him at the track and he said ” She is taking a huge step up in class, and facing older for the first time, but she seems to peaking right now. She wants every bit of this 2 mile distance, and hopefully she’s finally living up to her pedigree. I think she still has lots of room for improvement, as she hasn’t been tested in her last 3 starts.” Her last start in the
St-The Marathon Special where she won by 8L suggests he may be right. Her dam is the A GRADE mare SEATTLE HIT who had 18 wins 5 at G1and a whopping $6,437,753 in stakes truly one of the mares of the sim. Her wins included the Can One Aussie Be This Silly…Twice Challenge-G1 over this journey with a 103sp. If this filly is half as good she will make her presence felt.
PP7 94198 MAGICAL MIA(IRE) boots M Zeus 8/5 North / South America
GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x SADLER’S WELLS x BUCKPASSER
The odds makers have made this the clear-cut favourite and most trainers I talked to feared this one the most she is trained by Boots Stables a trainer that we no little about. I spoke to this reclusive trainer early this morning as he walked this horse and he said ” my entry in this race is Magical Mia and she is one of my very favourite all time mares. I named her after Mike’s daughter and she has been very good right from the start. She has won over half of her starts and has been off the board in only 5 of her 33 starts with 18 fine wins. She has put together winning streaks of 7 and 6 and has just been a joy to own and train. She has run this marathon distance only 3 times in her career, but she has never lost at the distance. She has been competing of late in the highest class she has ever run in, and although she hasn’t won, she has been very competitive. She has never won a G1 race and it would be special if she were to do so while representing my country. She is sharp, training well and I am hopeful she will show her best.” Really there’s not a lot more i can add than what beats this mare wins the race.
PP8 131740 MAMBO CAUSEWAY(IRE) jockeymax1 N Bonus 9/1 Australia / New Zealand / Far East GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x KINGMAMBO x DEPUTY MINISTER
Another by GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) this one a 3yrold trained by Jockeymax Stables . She has raced 11 times 9 on turf for 3 wins and3 placing’s. She won last time out over 14f in the St-The Del Marathon so she has come to long distance stakes form at the right time . Untried at this distance and may find some of these a little to strong at this stage of her career. A closer she will be flashing home late and may get some of the spoils.
PP9 110645 DIVINE DIVINITY(IRE) shamran5 B Gulch 10/1 Europe / Scandinavia
HIGH CHAPARRAL (IRE) x PEINTRE CELEBRE (IRE) x IRISH RIVER(FR)
Shamran Stables bring us this lovely 4yrold mare who has proved herself a handy long distance runner up to a mile and a half but has struggle past that . She has slowed in the last furlong when racing beyond 12f and may find graded racing over this journey a big ask. She has won 6 races from 24 starts and will race handy to pace and try to out sprint them in finish. By top sire HIGH CHAPARRAL (IRE) she will mature further as a 5yrold and back to 12-13 f should be one of the best. Three starts ago won well over 13f in the St-The GRATEFUL DANCER Memorial with a 92sp.
PP10 101118 KISS OF BETRAYL(IRE) pm H Harzheim 8/1 Europe / Scandinavia
ROCK OF GIBRALTAR (IRE) x GONE WEST x EL GRAN SENOR
I watched this mare work lightly this morning at the track. She is trained by PM racing — RIP Kinger Rocks–> and is far and away the best progeny of the mare HARD ELF she has raced once over 2miles on an off track where she won by 8L in the A-The NICKESYD Special RESTRICTED She is one of the few runners who have won in the top graded company so that alone makes her a great chance of winning this .After the workout i spoke to her trainer he said ”
To say ive been disappointed with Kiss Of Betrayl this year would be the under statement
of the decade.
She looked the filly to follow this year after her remarkable feat last year of beating the older boys
in the grade I Canada Turf plus running some other fantastic races and just missing out on the number 1 spot at the BB.
No one in the world would have predicted such a poor run of form for her this year, it makes you
wonder what this game is all about.
However thanks to an extra super year last year, she is still the no 1 filly in her division.
It goes without saying this is some hot race…She will need to be back at her very best
if she is to win this, and i have tried to run her into a bit of form for the big day.
She has been aimed at the latter half of the season, so i am hoping it is her time
to shine and show why she is still the best at this division.
If she is back to her form as a 3yr old, id fancy her very very strongly to take this field, but on
what she has shown this year, we go there withe this superb mare hopeful rather than confident. “.
I personally think she may recapture that form here. Will run in mid-field and save some for the run home.
PP11 92183 APPROVED FOR GREEN gokiwi O Ridenour 40/1 Australia / New Zealand / Far East
WITH APPROVAL x GREEN DANCER x RED RANSOM
Outsider of this field and the 2nd of the rharfo runners this one from his Splitenz Stables although a rough chance her three runs over this journey have produced a win in the St-The BURG STIRRING Special and a fine 2nd in the St-The AGENT BABE Memorial last start . Her trainer had this to say” 16 furlong stakes winner has always been an honest toiler, but will likely struggle up in
this grade and company. Would need a career best effort to be competitive, and on recent speeds produced, doubt she will threaten too many.” An honest opinion but may be the bolter in this field.
PP12 117390 TRUE DREAM kevoman2 T Small 10/1Europe / Scandinavia
SADLER’S WELLS x NIJINSKY II x LYPHARD
Trained by the leader of the EAAA residency Coolk Stables she has the pedegree we would all love our horses to have but this mare backs that breeding up on the track. She has started 18 times for 10 wins and 4 placings. Only down side is two graded company runs were a little disappointing . So we will have to take her on trust back in a graded field . The distance will be no trouble as she won well in the St-The ZINC DEPUTY(GB) Stakes over 2miles last time out. She seems to be striking a rich vein of form which may carry her to victory in this race. Earlier today i spoke to kevoman and he had this to say ” My runner in the race is True Dream, so named as I had the breeding planned for some time and had to wait to save the bp’s to breed her. Needless to say she is my most expensive bp breeding ever! She has justified my faith by winning 7 stakes races so far and having a 50% strike rate. Her last run over 2 miles was encouraging and I hope she can take the step up to graded class over the trip as she has failed in graded class before. Looking at the entries, there are some nice fillies but the one to beat must surely be Magical Mia. An honest apaisal of the chances here I think..
GOODLUCK TO ALL RUNNER YOU ARE ALL WORTHY REPRESENTATIVES OF YOUR REGION
