Goof afternoon and welcome to France to this year’s Violin Mile. We recall the 2006 as one of the year’s most thrilling finishes in France. Gold Inferno and Transylvania came out of no where it beat the favorites with a spectacular photo finish with Gold Inferno taking home the trophy.

Today’s race has fallen on a beautiful day, though slightly on the warm side, there is a pleasing breeze and the perfect amount of shade granting clouds. We have nearly a full line up

PP1: Rocks Don’t Roll (91722) – He is quick and cheeky, but today’s race may be too much for him. I can see him in the front of the pack, but not a much of a threat despite is last win at a G3.

PP2: Vermont Victory (100267) – Coming of a small streak of wins and being in victory circle constantly over the last few races has given him more of an edge than any one. This one is sure to find himself on the board.

PP3: Dandior (97512) – This colt will be out the gate and in front quick and will set the pace the whole way around the track, but is expected to fade in the last furlongs. He may be able to finally pull off a win, but he will have locomotives in the flesh on his tail the whole way around.

PP4: Send Me A Signal (119423) – This little colt is growing up fast in the fast lane and with this being his first graded race he will certainly be tested. If he can step up to the competition I would love to see this one take home today’s win.

PP5: Stereotypical Cat (86498) – He is a good racer at the stakes level, but his not stepped up to the graced plate yet. I don’t see today being his day.

PP6: Kosa Nostra (89848) – He is capable of keeping with the pace, but not in graded races. I wouldn’t count him out though.

PP7: Jet Boy (62986) – He has talent, but I don’t think he’s capable with keeping with the pace for today’s race, which I am imagining to reach the 109-111 range.

PP8: Black West (33586) – He is very young and very inexperienced in comparison to his rivals. He is showing promise to be a great race horse, but today is the biggest day of his life. He could pull of an astonishing long shot win and it would certainly be one for the books!

PP9: The Fast Layne (124436) – He has a few graded wins, but today is going to be fast and furious and he may not be able to keep with the pack. I wouldn’t consider him much of a threat for today.

PP10: Danzig’s Buda (14482) – He is well bred but this race is not for him. His G3 and G1 race finishes seem like luck, but this one is a wild card. He hasn’t had much luck with the surface so today he finally can get his legs down a firm track.

PP11: Purgatory Code (111730) – We won’t see much from this guy, he had a great stakes win, but he’s not ready for graded races.

PP12: Bee Whistling (26491) – This one had a great allowance career and then was thrown in the graded stakes and is now way over head. He doesn’t have much of a chance to day.

PP13: Champ’s Bro (84527) – He’s a solid favorite with plenty of punch. His last time out was rather disappointing but we should see him in the front of the pack at the finish and a win is very possible.

My picks are Vermont Vickory and Champ’s Bro to duel it out. The long shot, Black West, may give them a run for their money or just down right steal a win.
