dunn fun – Jockeys on Horses Getting Milk – Episode 19
This piece of fictional fun is a chance for us to be introduced to one of the SIMS jockeys based on a popular TV show that features Comedians and Coffee.
WELCOME TO THE ANOTHER EPISODE OF “JOCKEYS ON HORSES GETTING MILK”.
On today’s show we are over at my stable close to Hamilton Ontario and will be riding on two of my horses.
My guest today is 37 year old Jose Benisz, a nineteen year veteran Jockey from Venezuela that now calls New Jersey home. Jose is married and has three kids. Jose has had a nice career and has finished in the money in fifty-nine percent of his races.
I’m DUNN and this is “JOCKEYS ON HORSES GETTING MILK”!
Dunn (on phone): Hey Jose it’s Dunn, I’m down at my stable and have two great horses for us to ride. Want to go for Milk?
Jose (on phone): I would love to Dunn! Since we met last weekend at the URC Up For Grabs I have been waiting for your call.
DUNN AND JOSE MEET AT BARN.
Dunn: What do you think of our horses today? Today we are riding Kenpreakbel and Kenpreakbeltwo.
Jose: I love the names Dunn, what a nice tribute to the Triple Crown races. I hope one of them turns out to be a winner for you.
Dunn: I hope so too Jose. Come on let’s get going.
DUNN AND JOSE SADDLE UP.
Dunn: You have had a great year Jose and are coming off a nice win last weekend. What do you attribute your success to this year?
Jose: I have actually had a really tough year Dunn personally, as my Mom passed away in early February. She was my biggest fan and I dedicated the season to her and I feel like I have extra confidence every race as I know my Mom is watching over me.
Dunn: I am sorry to hear about your loss Jose. Your success is certainly a great way to pay tribute to your Mom. Tell me about the race last weekend.
Jose: Well first off I have to say I don’t generally like races with big fields like that. I think when you get so many horses running at speeds like they do on the track, it is an accident waiting to happen. Thankfully it was a clean race and everyone made it through the traffic without injury. I got a real nice ride named DEVILS CAFE out of the plugger03 barn. He came in undefeated and had shown good speed in his previous races so I knew we had a chance. We got off to a good start and I was able to keep him in the middle of the pack and he responded nice down the stretch. I hope we can work together again in the future as I think he will be a good one.
Dunn: I am okay with you working with him again as long as I am not in the race.
Jose: It’s a deal Dunn! I know you had a colt in that race too but maybe just asked a bit too much of him and should maybe keep him at six furlongs or so.
Dunn: Thanks for the advice. You have been racing for a long time and have been very successful. How much longer do you think you will keep racing?
Jose: I would love to keep at it until I am fifty and then would love to become a trainer. I really love horses and working with great owners. I am really trying to absorb as much as I can over the next phase of my career and learning as much as I can from the best trainers that I am working with so that I can be successful.
Dunn: I will definitely keep that in mind Jose and would welcome the chance to have you be part of our team.
Jose: Thanks Dunn! I work hard and take a lot of pride in my work and really want to learn every day and want to bet the best.
Dunn:. It has been great getting to know you today Jose, thanks for being my guest. Are you ready for some Milk?
