Profitable Colony Stakes

Ladies and Gentlemen. I almost got there with the trifecta as we call it in Australia.  Single White Pat took this race out today by a considerable margin of 2 ½ lengths and a speed rating of 74.  I suggested in my pre-race comments that the trainer was placing her here in anticipation of the track conditions and boy was the trainer right in their thinking there.  Single White Pat, trained by casino of course certainly ran a beautiful race on the yielding turf here at Qld.  The extra distance over 7 furlongs also helped I would suggest and I think we can look forward to this one winning some big races in the future.

Shahadean ran a good race up front as expected early on.  Led for much of the race and in these conditions certainly showed her class.  On the firm turf she would have been unbeatable I think but still managed to run a close run second here.  Very classy mare as per the winner.  Trained by trainer blackmore – you can certainly expect to see more of her in these races.

Bringing up third was the famously named PPPPP.  Fantastic name of course and she did run well coming from behind to be closing up on the leaders at the end.  Bit more distance and she could well be a goer.

Other rans were Nothin’ Leica T.A. , Ferrari Cake and Cape Cross Filly but to be honest without in any way diminishing their runs they were not going to take out based on their performances today.  I am sure they will be back though to have another go at this level and prove their worth.

Thanks again for another day at the Queensland track.  Lets hope we see more entrants next week in the Stakes race of the day.  And hopefully I can pick all 3 next week!!!
