It’s fun to cover the 2yr old racing at this time of the year it seems to be when most are just reaching their full potential. The new seasons sires are interesting and some tried and true favourites are still producing top class babies. The trainers are full of hope that they may have a future Hall Of Famer in their stable let take a look at this field of eleven runners.

From the unowned stakes winning mare BART’S SUM and by far the best of her representatives . Trained by the sometimes brilliant trainer Jacklad Empire and to be ridden by stable rider J Ackland he should be right in this finish. Has run four nice races to date and should be suited by the journey here. He has already been grade placed in the G3-The Coventry Steaks but i think his last run in the St-Young Turfer Festival over 6f in 1:10.4/5 with an 80sp is the greatest pointer to his chances here he was running on well for 3rd and the extra furlong can only help here.

He has freshened since his last run and if he improves with that rest as a lot of 2yrolds do this time of year will be right in this finish. Trained by the Ohio resident Twinhollow Stables he should do the trainer proud with another top run here.

As his name suggest his trainer is taking the risk and running him here. This aussie breed colt has raced twice both over 5.5 furlong winning the second with an improvement of 10sp a similar improvement here would see him go close at juicy odds. His breeding suggest turf router so he will enjoy extra distance.

By a relatively cheap 1st season sire who has produce 4 winners already . His dam was a 2yrold winner . He has had 4 runs to date for 3wins and a nice 4th in the G3-Belgian Tike Stakes after leading he was 1 1/2 L from the winner and may well lead in this race from a handy draw. He is trained by Mano Stables a resident of Pastures of Green and may take some running down in the stretch.

Beautifully bred colt who has tried both dirt and turf by seems to like turf better has won 2 on turf including a nice allowance win last time out over 8f winning clearly and points to a top run here over 7f . Trained by Right At Home Stables he is by another 1st season sire who has produced 18 individual winners 2 stakes winners and 1 graded winner so he is doing the job nicely in his 1st year and is seldom left unbred each week.

By the mighty THEATRICAL he is trained by the DelPenn National resident Jakematt Stables he has the breeding we would all love to have in our stables. He is also doing the job on the track albeit over short sprints his breeding suggests distance will be no problem. Last time out he won the St-The PRO REAR Bonanza over 5.5f with a 73sp so is right up to this company and will make his presence felt.

May be the one to beat in this race his form is outstanding and he has the breeding to back it up He has won his last four races in a row and they include the G3-Goats That Faint Juvenile over 6.5f and a last start win in the St-Six Demon Bag over this journey with an 80sp . he really looks the one and should make his 1st year sire proud . He will be ridden by one of Ascots finest jockeys P Harzheim and this will only add to his chances . He will run just ahead of midfield and save his run for the home stretch.

His sire continues to produce very good 2yrolds and this guy is no exception he has only raced once for a win over 5.5f with a 67sp. He is trained by the B4rca Stables has a pretty good jockey on board he is a bit of an unknown quantity so hard to pick him in my 1st three. He can only improve with the run.

He has a classic turf pedigree and has produce two nice runs so far for a 2nd and a last start win over this distance but in a relatively slow time another i would be prepared to say will improve with time. Trained by the EAAA Racing resident the great Whisper Stables who does so much for members of the sim with his different tools . I for one wish him the best of luck.

The ruling favourite this aussie bred is trained by another EAAA Racing resident Scootboy Stables so give that residency two strong hopes. He has had 2 wins and two 2nds from 4 starts. Won well two starts back in the G3-The Coventry Steaks over 6f with a 76 sp but last start ran 2nd with a 86sp in the St-Young Turfer Festival . What beats him wins the race.
